But I received a sms for priority banking members...
How to know I am a member or not?

Call up your branch and ask them to connect to priority area. They should be able to check and assist you.

Also for HL priority banking, if you have the priority banking debit card, you won't be charged the annual debit card fee.

CIMB has the most number of Preferred Banking rooms compared to MBB. These days seems like many people qualify for Preferred status, that the normal counter can be faster service.

And their preferred hotline is so darn effective and efficient.

I just got my Ambank PB signature world master card done.

Nothing much, branch is sucks when you’re not in central. Even you apply a 120k car loan the officer lazy layan. Damn disappointing service from Ambank.

But the world MasterCard unlimited lounge access is very good to me as I travel every month min once.

Yup my ambank RM is hopeless too. Their service is sub par compared to OCBC and CIMB. Even my Maybank RM is hopeless. Barely knows about the products that I ask her about and gives me false information all the time.

Mine is the branch manager. More or less it’s so damn useless. Keep pushing unit trust like I’m interested or no other products.

I support her by putting a FD only LOL

Its always that way. Because they wanna earn commission and their highest income is from UT sales.

Guys, for a 7 digits investment which is maturing soon, what options do you think there are other than putting the money into FDs, UTs, Bonds, stock market, EPF, ASNB?
Putting into PMMMF temporarily until a proper decision is made within the next week.

I would personally suggest for foreign investments.

If you are going for ringgit denominated :
1.ASNB would be a good option for the next 3-4 years.
2.Bonds(get a consultant in private banking to explain in detail).

EPF would have withdrawal restrictions.

Stock market and floating unit trusts under Pakatan Harapan are terrible choices in the next 3-4 years.
*
Foreign investments such as ?
Yeah ASNB for now isn’t needed because there are already funds parked there.

The bonds that u mentioned, does it include local retail bonds ?

Can consider retail bonds issued by banks or some local companies that u can trust (or think u can trust  devil.gif ). The pay out higher than FD, of course some risk there just like everything else in life ! tongue.gif

Thanks bbgoat, was thinking of going into more bonds for now. Just so sad that I am so busy at work now and the funds are gonna sit in the account till Tuesday because I’ll be away on Monday also.

My personal suggestion.

Floating rate dollar denominated bonds/ETFs.
Inverse ETFs/fixed rate dollar bonds during financial crisis.

Revert to stocks about 18 months after crisis.

You may consider perpetual bond( better to find a financial consultant and ask him to explain in detail). 1 million ringgit would entitle you for private banking.

Stocks are not my thing. Too time consuming for me to study the fundamentals of the companies given the nature of my job. So , for now, most likely, will go into bonds.

Will be contacting AmPrivate Banking RM to assist .

Malaysia PB has limited range of products.

Go Singapore. Better range, risk choice, and services

Care to elaborate? Or where can I read up further?

Your private bank RM can furnish you a list of bonds currently available.

I wasn’t asking about bonds offered here. I was asking about the part where it was suggested to go to Singapore for bonds.

hmm.gif  hmm.gif  4.5% 12 months FD rate is offered by Standard Chartered i think...

CIMB is now offering 6% for 3 months FD but you got to earmark another 50K in current account to have maximum 200K to enjoy the 6% FD.. 100K in current accont earmark for 3 months to enjoy maximum 400K 6% FD
*
Effective rate is between 5.08%-5.1% depending on how much u put in.

Wanted to put in FD for Bank Rakyat , and apparently to become their Xclusive customer, it is subject to HQ approval.

Anyone else had this experience?

good day , anyone has a reachable contact for bank rakyat’s xclusive customers? The hotline numbers from the website don’t seem to work. Can’t get hold of a single person.
