If using HSBC global, is it ok to transfer like RM30k to RM50k worth of foreign currency in one day? Have to fill up form for declaration?

First, you need an account with a branch in that country.

It doesn't mean when you have an account, you automatically to/from where you like, and when you like.

Nope, no need.
After all you are just transferring money within your account, they might call and ask if you are the one actually transferring the money
but otherwise, all good smile.gif

CIMB has only a handful of branches overseas compare to HSBC or even Citibank. I personally prefer Citigold RM over HSBC RM, they are more attentive. I am talking about their Taipan branch, not sure about others.

Hi guys,

Need your kind advice here.

After reading all the comments here and I have almost bank with all banks , I have decided to select Citigold or HSBC.

This is my monthly usage:

1. I am transferring funds very frequently from US and SG, therefore I need a better exchange rate and free hassle transfer of funds globally.
2. I spend more than RM10K monthly, therefore I hope they could offer me a credit card that has a credit limit of at least RM30K.
3. I like to travel, therefore I am looking for free limousine and lounge services.

I have read thru forum and their websites, both of them offer almost the same benefits.

Which one would you suggest? smile.gif

Their accounts may be good but their credit card is not. Since you spend like >rm10k/month, better choose maybank 2 premier. If you know the trick, you can get free tickets from them.

And beside you need to be able to open account in the respective country you want to.transfer money. Open first. Then think about which priority banking you want.
