QUOTE(kotaku.com) Our contacts indicate that a refreshed DS is complete. It is thinner (it has no GBA port), has on-board storage and larger screens. However, we do not expect a revamped Wii or DS until sales begin to tail off in all three major geographies. via kotaku.com

QUOTE(sani_othman @ Nov 15 2007, 02:31 PM) end of 2009..... i just ordered ndsl from strongbaby It's all good. And don't take my word for it la, I just read it somewhere, and possibly spoken by President(of Nintendo) Satoru Iwata. Problem with this NEW one, is the lack of slot-2(GBA slot). Similar to what happened when GB Micro came out. You lose features.

You lose features. i think the one u mean is nds 2 leh, not the revamped version of nds. hmm, i think it may affect the nds if they remove the gba slot as there are many games tat relies on it like transferring pokemon from pokemon gba games to diamond and pearl, no vibration anymore, cannot play special games like slide kids, cannot use the camera bundled wif a game(forgot the name)etc.

seeing tat ndsl is still selling like hotcakes around the world, i doubt they are gonna release the next ndsl so soon. a revamped version of ndsl is possible but i think i am gonna pass if it does exist since i am quite satisfied wif the current ndsl. i am quite doubtful wif wat the new nds can do. larger screen? as discussed b4, it is not quite possible bcos of some resolution problem. no gba port? quite stupid also since many peripherals are usable only when they can be fitted into the gba slot. and if thinner? hmm, i have to c the real thing first b4 i decide tat i wanna get a new one based on this.

Didn't Nintendo admitted that the DS is not an actual successor of the Gameboy and that they are working on the next Gameboy? If so, why are they making a revamped DS? But come to think about it, we have got 3 designs for the GBA, so it still make sense.

But come to think about it, we have got 3 designs for the GBA, so it still make sense. yeah, nintendo did say that nintendo ds is nintendo third pillar b4 bcos they were afraid that this whole new machine might screw in the end and they were not willing to take the risk wif the brand of gameboy. but, as we can see, nintendo is runaway success and i would dare to say tat the penetration of nintendo ds to the market is much higher than gameboy bcos nintendo is well accepted by people of all ages due to the whole new games tat cater to the casual gamers. hehe, they are making a newly redesigned nintendo ds when the sale is slowing down and also to encourage gamers to fork out more money for a new console.

There were two versions of the gameboy - the common grey one wiht purple/red buttins and a slimer sleeker one (mine's silver, but i think there is a gold version too). 2. There were quite a number of GBA versions - the first was horizontal like the psp/n-gage, then the standard clamshell followed by the backlit clamshell and finally the sexy micro. And rumour says it is coming on this xmas. QUOTE The Nintendo DS Lite was a welcome addition to the handheld gaming industry when it debuted back in March, 2006 with it's more stream lined look from the previous Nintendo DS model. Being that the Nintendo DS Lite was already successful to begin with, imagine our surprise when we found out rumors that announcements had already been made about the latest version of the DS Lite already wrapped up and will be hitting stores come the Christmas season.
According to Evan Wilson, Pacific Crest Securities analyst, a revamped version of the Nintendo DS Lite has indeed been finished. Eager fans of the handheld console can look forward to a much slimmer version of itself with additions of new features such as on board storage and even wider screens. Can you spell G-a-m-e-b-o-y-A-d-v-a-n-c-e?
Kidding aside though, news about the new version seems to be all aces. Evan Wilson, Pacific Crest Securities analyst, expressed his misgivings toward the debut of the revamped version of the Nintendo DS Lite coinciding with the Christmas season. According to him, gaming publishers face certain challenges with expected jam-packed shopping come December such as insufficient retail space, possible call backs of game and consoles due to shortages, and original game influx.
Success, it seems, can sometimes truly be a double-edged blade. We can only hope that these issues are soon resolved so that we can all enjoy the Nintendo DS Lite's revamped version around the ol' Christmas tree once Christmas rolls around.
