My PS2 had a problem where it did not read some discs that I bought... So I brought it to the game shop where I purchase my games, and the games that were not working, worked on their PS2... So I gave it to them to repair... He sed need to service it... I asked how much and how long to repair? Then he sed RM150, and he sed theres a lot of ppl sending their PS2, so it will take longer than usual... I ask how long? He sed 2-3 days... Then i was like "thats not long"... And today... Today is one week already... One week is SEVEN days... not 2-3 days... SEVEN... I went back on the 4th day and he asked if he had called already to inform me i can collect it, and I sed no... Then he sed if not yet call, then its not ready...

My bro sed they probably took it and change the parts to fake parts... i dint take it seriously, but he got me worried now... Seven days oredi, when he sed only 2-3 days... wat to do??

my previous ps2 (fat one) got problem also. it won't read new game disc. i checked with various shop & they sd probably by 2 problem.
one is the modchip is old & can't play latest games.
two is regarding the lens (already kong).
i tried with new ori game & oso canot play so it's regarding problem no 2.
i went 2 shop 4 repair but they sd the price is rm250 coz fat ps2 parts are xpensive.
so i just bought new ps2 rm500 (slim one).
when i try 2 play, some game won't load then i noticed dat it's not properly inserted (coz we need 2 inserted it manually).
some disc the hole is 2 small so i need 2 make it bigger by knife.
so far my ps2 never got any problem 2 play any games.
most shop that i went 2 repair only took a few hours & the longest time is 1 day.
u need 2 check with dat shop i think coz it's ridiculous oredi 1 week.

pls tell us which shop so that we will be cautious next time....

if u r in kl, send it to bernard for repair la...at least u can have peace of mind...

ok... i just got it back... and i tried Smackdown vs Raw 2008... It worked until loading screen... then the match didnt even start! Just loading only... for like 2 mins... then i restart the PS2, and the same problem happened! i payed RM180! and the problem is not fixed! Got 1 week warranty... I am gona go there tomoro and juz ask them to refund the money... fed up oredi.... juz gona buy ps3 this weekend...

erm...did you try twisting the white knob inside the ps2?

dint touch the insides of it... dont wana ruin it even worst... i'll have to go give them a visit tomoro and see wat i can do... but starting to get fed up... whole year didnt play coz of exams... now exam finish, and this thing giving problem... my exam finished 2 weeks ago, and i am yet to play... just wana get ps3 and get it all over with!

btw,you using the fat or slim ps2?

then it would do you no good getting a ps3,since you'd need ori ps2 games (of the same region as the ps3) to be able to play them

i trust Bernard and i can clearly see that he's an expertise on these
kinda things.

My ps2 also stop reading disc. most common problem can be solved
by twisting the knob a tiny winy at a time. and test if it worked.
and yes, it worked..... for few months. then gotta set the dial back.
fed up bought a Network Adaptor and now happily playing games
through my PS2 HDD lol.

try this, try inserting different format disc into your ps2,
and see which it CAN boot. Dual Layer DVD, Single Layer,
CD... anything.

Not really concerned with PS2 games... as long as there are games! SvR2008, Need For Speed, FIFA 08 all on PS3 too... plus better ones like Assassins Creed and Kane & Lynch coming for PS3 too...

Added on November 16, 2007, 10:02 amArgh! Same thing happened today morning! I just tried to see if it works or not... I put in SvR2008, then select 'normal match', then selected Triple H for me and fight against Umaga, and start the match... The entrance was shown, then the loading for the match just got stuck there for like 2 mins or so... I was waiting and waiting... then i just reset, and the same problem happened again... it just went to the Browser screen and dint start the game... damn annoyed oredi!
