Someone I know needed to do Spinal fusion / spinal instrumentation where screws and rods are inserted in the spine. Anyone has done that can share your experience?
Did it help in fixing your problem?
Any side effect?
How long did it take to recover?
Was it very painful?

Yah. That is good advice. I still want to know more info so my friend can be mentally prepared. I want to get a patient’s perspective/experience.

after the surgery it is pain....very pain. Doc will give painkiller aka morphine. the pain subsides in 2-3 days. Some ppl can sit up and walk abit 5days after the surgery. Some can't and takes longer period like maybe 2 weeks. Some ppl can't walk properly and needs to do physiotherapy. Overall takes 2-3 months to recover.
