I'm not here to criticize you, just to let u know how it really worked.
U need to show what you can contribute if u are serious about it, idea worth nothing.

If that's really a technical guy willing to committed into it, he will need to spent hundreds of hours into it, while he is investing all his personal time into it, what's your commitment which equal to his effort? You would be expected to contribute in something else, something the market willing to pay for it, e.g. marketing, get initial investment fund in etc.

I'm a technical person myself, often that's ppl come to me and just present the idea to me and expect it to be a teamwork startup. If things failed, they just walk away with no loss. What they did is just occasionally spent few hours to review the project progress and give some idea, while technical person already sink few hundred hours into it. We can earn five figures elsewhere on freelance with the hundreds of hours, you need to make the commitment fair.

agree

even when giving capital those peoppe always say theyre the ones payinf capital while technical people dont contribute capital

yeah but for technical people our capital is not money it is our expertise. i dare say few hundred k is nothing when compared to expertose that is honed thru many years of hard work. sometimes we put our name on the line. if the business fails the investor loses his capital but we lose our reputation.... something those so called founder investor never understand thibking their money is so great

most stsrtups also tend to work people harder, and need to do outside of usual jobscope stuff becsuee of lack of manpower and budget... and it is meant to help save the founder cum investors money while inconveniencing the technical person who doesnt need to do such menisl tasks if they were working for.bigger companies

I'd suggest you understand the cost of app (build, running, maintain) and marketing first

You need a legal binding as offer. Now a days a lot say 50/50 ... Once money involved start to become 30/70 then 10/90 then at one point stop paying and hire "better" Developers.
