I was that idiot once. Similar situation as in the video.

I was waiting for a slow lorry (coming from my left) to pass before entering the main road. There was a new billboard across the road, and I was looking at it while waiting for the lorry to pass.

Entered the road when the lorry passes... as I was turning right, I see a bike there. It was a kapchai... and he has stopped and was looking at me!

He had noticed that I was not looking to my right.

(Yeah, important to have eye to eye contact in such situation. And this only works when the car windows are not heavily tint.)

(And not only the bike was accelerating towards a junction, he overtake on double lines.)

I guess this is most likely. Driver focus was on the cam car incoming. Never on the motorbike. And hence that is why he/she decided to come out of the junction. Even when we have the right of road also we must beware.

Here is what I think happened.

INITIALLY the driver did check the right lane but since there was no oncoming traffic, so the driver was focused and waiting for the traffic on the left to clear before going out. Immediately the last vehicle on the left had passed, the driver zoomed out. The driver failed to check the situation from the right again and assumed it was clear as before.

Yeah you could be right too, depending how cock eyed the driver is.

not defending the driver here, but one has to admit sometimes motor riders has zero understanding on car driver blind spots

i have quite a few times i signal left long time ago ed, but motor still insist mau cilok in thinking he is visible. but the funny thing is because the rider is moving, the blind spot changes constantly making it very hard to find out where the rider is even with the help of left and rear mirrors. so luckily since i havent turn in, no accident happened but the rider was like "apa lanjiao stare" at me like its all my fault

people may blame rider headlight didn't ON. lol
