I sprayed screen cleaner on my Vivo V9 screen and wiped it with a microfiber cloth. The next day, it started showing a ghost effect, then vertical lines, and eventually change its color. Which one should i choose: sending it to a technician for repair or buying a new Redmi Note 14 5G (within my budget)? I'm worried the technician might do something suspicious to my Vivo V9 during around the repair which takes about 30 minutes and costs around RM150. I also can't use CIMB OCTO because my Vivo V9 doesn't support Android 10 and above. Should i switch to another bank like Maybank without buying new phone?

I don't know about the Vivo V9 whether it's a recent model 2024/2025 or an older model say from year 2021 or 2022. In my view it's not worth repairing phones especially if it's old or cheaper models. Better buy new one if the V9 is an older phone or used for few years already. Since you mentioned CIMB OCTO can't be used on the phone since it doesn't support Android 10 and above, I presume it's an old model. Nowadays phones are cheap, below RM1k you can get one already and it just depends on your budget and requirement.

Not to mention, you can file for income tax every year up to RM2.5k under Lifestyle category if you purchase a new phone. So that's an advantage there too.

You already bought new phone?? Or repaired current one...
Just to inform you... If you just repaired.... And use other bank @ Maybank... The bank updated their minimum OS for MAE.... No more support Android 9 & 10 anymore....
In the end, still need to change phone no matter what....
