Isopropy, methanol and ethanol are different type of alcohol

Isopropy is main ingredient in rubbing alcohol and hand sanitizers.
Consuming just a small amount of this alcohol can be toxic and, for some, fatal if it is swallowed or gets in the eyes.
Any bodoh go any consume rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizers?

Methanol is used in industrial processes, while ethanol is used in the production of alcoholic drinks. Methanol is a natural product of the fermentation when making alcohol.

After fermentation, distillation is require to separate unwanted by product methanol (head product) from the ethanol (tail product).

Home brewer or illegal distillers usually skip the or skimp on the distilling as it requires energy and effort, yet reduce the product that they can sell. Thus people who consume illegal alcohol or even counterfeit alcohol risk the methanol poisoning.


Ethanol is the only one of the three types of alcohol manufactured for human consumption. It is clear, without color, and results from plant fermentation.

Dinking too much ethanol can lead to alcohol toxicity same as drinking too much water will cause water poisoning/intoxication. Will you not drink water because of that?

Water intoxication, or hyponatremia, occurs when excessive water intake dilutes the body's sodium levels, leading to cell swelling, especially in the brain.

Similar to drinking dirty or poluted water will lead to diarrhoea, dysentery, hepatitis A, etc....
