Hi guys,
I have been recommended these two brands for washing machine and dryer as separate unit. Most are pushing for Samsung but I have been reading bad feedback on it. Both similar pricing.
Appreciate if you guys could advice

QUOTE(bengang15 @ Sep 14 2025, 12:53 PM) I used Samsung once at hotel. Macam not nice But at my rented apartment have a LG washer dryer. So far so good. Quite happy with it. How's the drying? I actually wanna get combo and just sell it away in 4 years time when I shift but my wife wants to get two separate unit so that we can just bring along next time.

QUOTE(Acoen @ Sep 14 2025, 01:03 PM) Washing machine, LG seems good Im using one Front load? I have been reading that LG is more reliable. Especially Samsung ones all touch screen. But not sure about the drive. Belt (samsung) vs direct drive (LG)

QUOTE(TsubakiKira @ Sep 14 2025, 01:56 PM) combo not recommended, we asked around quite a few places and they all said that if either one component kaput, you basically render the whole machine useless. just get the 2. Haha yes, but I'm aiming to use it for 4 years only. Then we will be moving to our own house, where we would buy both separately. Kinna lazy wanna shift them. But if have to, maybe we will just buy both now. Looking at both LG and Samsung but can't decide as both are same price as combo.

QUOTE(bengang15 @ Sep 14 2025, 01:56 PM) My long term experience was with Electrolux and LG and both are combo. Can I try to reason with you to pls get a combo. 1. Safe space. 2. Most important its convenient. You dump forget about it. Can go sleep or go jalan jalan no need to worry about the drying. Some will easy to rosak la but seriously these thing will last at least 7 years. It pays back with convenience you enjoy. Haha ya .. but drying is not that good I heard.

QUOTE(bengang15 @ Sep 14 2025, 02:26 PM) Drying is good to have. But really most time I hang out or to dry. So get a combo je. The dryer will be a sore eye and waste space I don't wan to hang anymore .. that's the reason why I'm getting a dryer. Too time consuming to dry indoor. Not home most of the time to drag my clothes out during the day.

QUOTE(TsubakiKira @ Sep 14 2025, 02:30 PM) You're either gonna shift one or 2 machines, to me personally that's not a big diff if you're gonna get a moving lorry for that anyway. Front loader means you have to clean the gasket frequently as well, pray that nothing breaks down post warranty 😑 Ultimately it's up to you, you can have the combo for convenience, or separate for future proofing. In case dryer Kong can use the sun 🌞 Washer dryer separate is cheaper than combo, lul. Haha I'm looking at the same brand so that I can stack them up. Space is rather limited for me. Getting 2 in 1 is just for temporary so that I can sell it when I move, and get a better one in the future. But the dilemma now is, should I just bite the bullet now then I don't have to buy them again in the future. Haha.

QUOTE(TsubakiKira @ Sep 14 2025, 04:13 PM) again entirely up to you, we also bit the bullet when we purchased this because we had an urgent need (moving into another place, baby came 2 months early, so on) and it wasn't feasible to purchase one standalone washer and combo because it was out of our budget. Now a bit of a pain to move them back, but we'll arrange for movers once the time comes. regardless pick whichever you're most comfortable with. Yeah .. that's why I shortlisted these two after survey.

QUOTE(bengang15 @ Sep 14 2025, 04:25 PM) You realise drying will damage your clothes overtime. Some of my tshirt shrunk. Can always buy new clothes. Hahaha .. I'm not too bothered about it .. I just need a dryer. I have to wash 3 to 4 times per week now, which is a hassle to hang them everyday.

QUOTE(mushigen @ Sep 14 2025, 07:19 PM) Inverter refers to the motor. Motor is either coupled to the drum with belt or directly (direct drive). Oh right, sorry so my previous understanding was wrong. Thanks for correcting. So, should I go direct or belt? Or either is fine?

QUOTE(ReaperX @ Sep 14 2025, 07:12 PM) Using LG washer and dryer (separate units). What's your experience with them? The model I'm looking at for LG has been in the market for couple of years according to the sales person. Whereas, the Samsung ones that I'm looking at are about a year old. I'm more concerned about reliability. I don't mind it's older but reliable. One thing about Samsung, they love to release new models every year but only minor updates just to get people to buy.

QUOTE(mushigen @ Sep 14 2025, 07:27 PM) To me, no difference as belt is cheap to DIY replace. I chose an LG washer, and it only comes with DD. Didn't have good experience with Samsung appliances, so I avoid Samsung. I see, what's your comment on it? I'm more intrigued by Samsung's own cleaning where it cleans the whole drum including the rubber area, which according to the sales person LG doesn't have that.

QUOTE(g5sim @ Sep 15 2025, 12:00 PM) Electrolux. Why you even consider LG or Samsung for washing machines? If you buy TV then yes this two brands but not washing machines lah! It's pretty much the biggest selling products here. While some sales do recommend them but it seems the functions are not as advanced as these two brands

QUOTE(Tsting @ Sep 15 2025, 12:21 PM) For those with separate LG Washer Dryer, any of you stack them up? The LG stacking kit doesn't seem to be available in Malaysia.... Better to stack them up by having it secured. More space too
