A Malaysian woman recently got the internet feeling all judgey when she shared her dilemma online.

According to ger post, her husband died in an accident last year, leaving her to raise their five-year-old son alone. Her mother-in-law had passed away early on.

Her father-in-law, heartbroken over the loss of his son, often visited the woman and grandson.

Here's when things took an unexpected turn. The woman recalled her father-in-law being drunk one day, and "in the spur of a moment", the two had sex. The woman later found out she had "accidentally gotten pregnant".

After finding out his daughter-in-law was expecting his child, the older man promised to take full responsibility, and insisted the woman keep their baby.

However, the woman felt conflicted about the situation.

"If the baby is born, would they address [my father-in-law] as grandpa or dad?" she wrote. "This struggle with identity makes it hard for me to face the way our relatives and friends, and society will view us."

The woman confessed that she does not have the heart to put her unborn child through the judgement they will undeniably face. She is also afraid that their family and loved ones would be unable to accept the truth, and that it would affect their relationship with her son.

Though she has yet to make public her eventual decision, she has said that she's open to receiving advice from the public so she can face the matter with a clear head.

Thoughts, anyone?

Ikut cara sains, test DNA, kalau match, maka kena la panggil ayah.

Ikut cara budaya/tradisi, panggil la Father-in-law je.
