RON95 petrol price will go down by end September, says Anwar

The government will keep its promise to reduce the price of RON95 petrol to RM1.99 per litre by the end of September, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The Prime Minister hit out at critics who doubted him on the matter, saying that the price reduction would happen.

"There were those who said 'it's now September. Where is the fuel reduction?'

"But just wait a while, we will fulfil our promise," he said, adding that foreigners would be paying RM2.50 to RM2.60 while locals would pay RM1.99 per litre.

They will reduce it to give people the feel is okay even without subsidy. Then will go all in hike after few months. Is like scam, lure you in feed you the slaughter. Cause price is relative, if hike bit by bit people wont feel it …

Must look at the bigger picture.
It doesn't just affect our fuel bills. Inflation will increase, and this is the bigger problem.

again, that's NOT unsubsidized price

those who actually believe that's unsubsidized price must be either stupid or naive
because it seem like malaysians doesn't know 2 things about our RON95

1. every country around us is selling RM4.XX-6.XX/liter, you're going to say that's including taxes and duties....even with all that, it's impossible the price difference is that large
and
2. same as every country around us....we don't produce our very own RON95, we also buy from overseas same as everybody else

or maybe it's
no.3 - crude oil price has dropped a lot and i don't know hmm.gif

I was looking at how much tax and duties is just now thats why edit post

Thai : https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/genera...espite-tax-hike

Duties alone is 6.7baht (rm0.90) per liter.

Australia: https://www.aaa.asn.au/advocacy/explainers/...cise-explained/

51.6c (rm1.44) per liter

Australian wholesale price currently is about AUD1.65/L: https://www.aip.com.au/pricing/terminal-gate-prices

That price includes the fuel excise (AUD0.516/L) and GST (10%)

Remove GST, that's AUD1.485/L

Remove the fuel excise, that leaves us with AUD0.965/L

I would say that transporting fuel to Australia is more expensive than to Malaysia given its location, to account for the RM0.20/L gap
