 Power bank bootleg, what is the catch?

The thing about cheaper powerbanks are that they dont last very long. Maybe the cells they use are lower grade, and often times, no where near the rated and advertised capacity.

I've had 5 pineng ones that failed after a year or 2 (some become pregnant), while my 3 xiaomi ones are ALL still working after 3-5 years. Those 20k mah 45W ones weren't cheap when they were new in the market (160) but I've just ordered another one for 70 recently.


Given decent xiaomi ones arn't that much more expensive than chap ayam, no point in saving money there.


I find for powerbanks, just as long as you charge them up before you fully drain them, they tend to last longer. If you have completely drained them, sometimes they dont charge up properly anymore or worst, fireworks when charging.
