Data is not useful coz no break-down between hybrid, BEV and HEV. Also, no further breakdown on causes of fire, whether due to accident, self-combust, sabotage, modified charger, poor maintenance, etc.

Too few cases to even begin with. 10 cases per year is like higher chance of getting struck by lightning.

1 year 10 fire only?

we got more than 10 death on the road everyday and yet you still driving
thousands of car accidents per day no one bats an eye

if ICE car catches fire everyone said it's impossible, it must be EV

then if one EV car catches fire everyone blows their fcking mind

Not important.
EV must have 0 fires worldwide then only ktards will be satisfied

Not important. EV fans will forever say that EV fire is LESS than ICE fires.

Interesting. Here's a photo of EV but it's not the one on fire.

How many ICE fires?

Need to divide with how many ICE cars are registered and compare with how many EVs are registered.

Yup. Not sure if JPJ or OpenDOSM has this data so we can get same statistic as below from US NTSB (2022 data)

Need do post mortem on each and every cases to locate similar usage history/driver habits that led to this.

some owners simply frequently parked their vehicle under hot sun/next to rat infested semak causing electrical malfunctions inside.

To compare apples with apples, then we have to make the comparison between ICE & EV fires of the age of vehicles. Itu baru betul. Take data from old ICE vehicles fires with all kinds of wiring modifications buat ape ? Siapa dunno that it is a fire hazard.

Once a EV battery caught fire it’s very very hard to put off. Can self combust too

Got combustible fuel and lithium/NiMH combo. 2x the risk of fire. Also I talked to some hybrid owners, they basically said their car nothing much broken and not send for checking often. Less chance for mechanics to spot failing parts.

But Malaysia is hot country.

You mean those Sri Petaling double parkers need to use the multi-storey carpark?

Owai.
