Hi, nowadays for latest modern looks or for those used by interior designers nowadays for renovating houses, is 2x2 tiles still common, for downstairs living hall and upstairs rooms?

How about for bathrooms, if let's say want to have nice looking walls and floors macam hotel feel (I'm thinking grey-color theme), is 2x4 tiles appropriate? Hard to install and will it be more costly?

What are the best shops to get tiles nowadays? I see Super Ceramic has a lot of choices but a lot are China-made tiles. Are these good enough or are there other shops such as Niro/Creative Lab or Feruni or Guocera which has better tiles/designs? Worth the extra price?

Great question - I'm in the same boat and wondering the same thing! Looking at 2x4 tiles for my small bathroom to prevent grout lines.

2x2 or 2x1 are always timeless. The trend was matt, now seems to be texture tiles.

I just did reno for my subsale house. I went for 4x2 porcelain tiles to make the bathroom looks aesthetically more spacious. I bought China brand tiles, probably one of the top 5 brands in China but price also a bit premiums.

Ah I'm having the same idea as well, 2x4 for wall bathroom. But it will be more expensive than installing smaller tiles? And your tiler must be skilled. May I know who's your tiler contact and any pictures idea can share with me? Can PM also biggrin.gif

Was your tiles brand something like Eagle Ceramics, Citigres, etc. ?

I had been going to tile showroom at Super Ceramic and bought sample tiles. I also bought one piece of 2x4 tiles and brought back to test see if it fits my bathroom theme. The 2x4 tile was quite heavy. Imagining the installer installing it onto the wall, need a lot of skill and coordination.

You can Google for Dong Peng, they hv a exclusive showroom in Kota Damansara.

Tiling for 4x2 size I would not say you need special skill, I think ur usual contractor can do.

2x4 tiles is okay...

But really need to make sure you got expert... Not some cheapo Bangla or something like that....

Because it's bigger size need better grip & mixture.... So to make sure tiles don't pop up or dropped out from wall / floors....
