Find that good one either has a long queue or long drive
Nowadays I find it better to learn recipes while far2 away
Then come back home to cook/bake

These days I value my time more than money.

When my family is with me I cook. Now my time is limited rather go out eat.. like my dad before he retire he doesn't cook. After retire he learnt all the recipes from YouTube. Now I think he is a better cook than my mom. He bakes cheese cake , salted egg fried chicken etc.

Maybe when I retire.

while waiting for recommendation, can you share your place for Greek, Spanish, Argentinian ?

can try vegetable dishes at Table and Apron at Damansara Kim. They have their bakery shop next door too.
some their iconic is eggplant with scallion pesto, tempura sweet potatoes with ricotta or Roasted Cauliflower with Ricotta Spread
Their bakery shop is good for breakfast too with fresh bakes and sweet desserts. seats are very limited, so please go early in weekend. No joke when you seeing old couple queening up outside the shop

Yes nice. Iberico is nice.
Their steak is nicely done too- not the best quality but cook well.

Down side. Not much beer choice. And the sitting not too comfy.

You're quite adventurous in trying cuisines from lesser known countries.

I've been eating a variety of unique cuisines too;

- Northern Indian
- Pakistani
- Sri Lankan
- Yemeni
- Turkish
- Syrian
- Philippines
- Vietnamese
- Northern China
- Central China

Of course, I also go for the more common ones e.g. Thai, Japanese, masakan Melayu, Nyonya, Southern Indian, Indon etc

Not sure how to recommend.

What's your goal or priority? Ambiance, distance, uniqueness?

talked about HK style . today ended up at Lamp Hot pot. I assume it's HK style because its wallpaper deco has honkie flare.

not bad 8/10 but very bad for health.

wow nice.

Northern - tried many times- its more creamy and less spicy than southern
Vietnamese - been there many time so not really my favorite
Central CHina - been to Beijing and Shanghai- so I assume the taste are similar

This would be interesting. please recommend

- Pakistani
- Sri Lankan
- Yemeni
- Turkish (been to Turkey for a layover, didn't't really try much of their food but I would assume pretty much mediterranean style)
- Syrian
- Philippines

for me for sure distance>uniqueness . within KL would be nice.

yes- it could be too oily for some.

As alternative- i do purchase online- approx Rm 600/kg/ either steak cut or yakiniku cut.
recently also going to WMArt - they have nice selection

> Aust wagyu around rm 450-500 /kg
> Japanese Wagyu around RM 850 /kg
and 20% discout if purchase in a block. very much worth it.

another choice is Jyu Jyu yakiniku..... Just rm 200 per pax, buffet with 300g of Aust wagyu+ various dessert. and other beef cutting as well. Free flow

pakistani a lot these days, they are gaining traction

khan saab in wangsa maju, or khan in near HKL monorel there.

the taste ok for me , do try their palau briyani , couldn't get it anywhere, others maybe a bit similar to mamak stalls, as india pakistan cuisine for me is related , just subtle variance only

I'd say i'd prefer pakistani more than the common arabic foods these days . even yemen / syrian food they taste the same within arabic shops.

another one I would recommend is china muslim . try the xinjiang variants, their kebabs is to die for .

Didn't take photo of the pasta coz it's rather normal looking.

When I first started makan Japanese wagyu. I saw rm699/kg wah so cheap. Turns out its not the choice cut. Basically the oyster blade or the rump.

Your Japanese rm850 is what cut ? Sirloin? Usually those not in block is around rm1299-1599/kg for sirloin

Anyway. I think these days I prefer Aust wagyu. Not too fatty and you csn sear it. With Japanese wagyu Hardy can have charred surface.

I use to enjoy such food when I'm younger .. I stil remember my dad bring back one whole block of cheese and I finished it almost 90% within 1 month just with baguette .. day and night just bread and cheese ..

Sadly what I like is not what most of my other family member likes .. so I get to enjoy most of it in a bigger portion ..

I can whack min 10 raw oysters just with Tabasco and lemon juice .. now cannot as you get older.

As for foie gras, I stop due to "ethical" issue in due to how it's being "produce" .. but cant resist. Use to sip wine, cheese or foie gras after every dinner .. not in Malaysia though ..

Try Steak Tartare if you can .. pls be cautious though .. and make sure mix mustard, crackec peppers and tomatoes sauce to enjoy ya (french way)

yes it is sirloin- i recall 650/kg per block. Each block 1.5 kg above
Australia not bad too... but block price is Rm 450... each block like 3kg or so....

Looking back....

1kg will give 4 piece of decent size steak. So about Rm 110 each for Aus wagyu and RM 150 each for JAp Wagyu
just need to cook- and it is actually not hard once you try it a few time.

a lot cheaper and nicer that eating outside.
