those are position names....not title
that's why u will never see anybody address anyone as dato/datuk/datin/tan sri outside of malaysia

the more valuable title in this world is sir and yet nobody called them sir here sir there...only on very special occasion they will be called that
other times they will be addressed as Mr.<last name>

people will address you as dr.<xxx> when you're medical doctor...not the PHD one
