Productivity and watch movies. No game. Always bring outside like cafe or public park to do work

I would suggest MacBook Air. Connect it to your iPhone's hotspot since it won't have cellular connectivity.

Likely lighter to carry around, cheaper & longer battery life too.

Ipad with keyboard also can do all these right?

i've been using iPad Pro M1 5G with keyboard since its first launch back in 2021 till today.

so far so good.

if you're work requires you to frequently mobile, MBA don't have 5G capability and you need to go sit at coffee shop with that questionable WiFi security.

For typical word, powerpoint, it's perfect plus you can draw or sign documents using the pencil.

for excel however, if your data is not that much (<500) and not have to using macros, etc, then it's still doable.

For productivity like word, excel, presentation. Which one will u buy? An ipad pro can do exactly what a macbook can do?

Ipad os is really crippling for anything productivity related.

Despite using iPadOS 26 beta for some weeks now and finding it more productive than iPadOS 18x, I am still thinking of selling off my iPad Pro 11 (m2) and getting a new MacBook Air 13 (m4) soon.

Prefer a full computer OS than a gimped tablet OS for my use case.

get a 4G MiFi instead. This is my advice since i was using hotspot quite a lot via my old iPhone XS max last time.

the bugger got overheat most of the time & battery life reduced significantly.

so lesson learned, i got iPad Pro M1 5G instead.
