more than 15 years ago the jam is so bad even strawberry jam from there cannot compensate. Genting not too far, and no need gamble to enjoy the weather/scenery. Drive around also chill.
Best place to hang out on holidays

QUOTE(fongsk @ Sep 4 2025, 10:23 AM) The issue with Genting is once you are there, the outdoor activity is limited to the outdoor park and the shops/shopping area outside. Not many places to go for a relaxing me-time. I kinda miss heritage hotel at tanah rata. Used to go there when younger. Also missed the charcoal steamboat. But the trip upwards, even with the new highway makes me puke. Genting not that bad in that sense. Cameron, you can still chill at the old boh tea house and have me time or picnic at the plateau at the old boh tea house etc. even the new overhang boh tea cafe is a good choice as it feels spacious and lots of fresh air and sun. But the main drawback is the traffic jams and hustle for food during meal times. If you go further away towards the pasar malam and homestay area, it is nice. A lot of ‘free space’ enjoy the cool air minus the crowds or smoke from cars. I would love to go CH during no peaks days again. Either way still burn money when go on holiday. fongsk liked this post

QUOTE(fongsk @ Sep 4 2025, 10:39 AM) Have not been to CH quite a long time now. Used to have the charcoal hotpot behind the rows of show behind that Sakan supermarket I think. The shops still there? Also the hotpot on the rows of shops just outside the 4*hotel, donno what name edi. last I went, those new shoplots were spanking new and marrybrown was the only fast food place at tanah rata. can't recall their names already, but we always had dai chow there. Genting? Just went there two week ago after many years. Nothing to see and no outdoor life, at least to me. I spent my time in the new outdoor park which is so depressing. The outdoor park feels sterile, lack the atmosphere of a theme park without the loud music, crowds screaming riding the rollercoasters etc. it is like more for IG picturesque. And the outdoor durian stalls takes up so much space ….. I miss the old Genting, really. More family oriented then. Genting was pretty meh, but got family so a little less boring la. Apart from that, i agree, nothing much. fongsk liked this post
