PETALING JAYA: A power trip caused one of the aerotrains at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to halt temporarily before reaching the satellite terminal on Wednesday (Sept 3) afternoon.
KLIA, in a post on its official Facebook page, stated that the incident occurred at 1.36pm and affected a single aerotrain service.
"We wish to apologise to passengers who were impacted by a power trip that caused one of the aerotrains to halt temporarily before arriving at the satellite terminal at 13:36 today,” the airport operator said.
According to KLIA, all passengers were safely escorted off the halted train via the central platform walkway in line with its standard operating procedure.
"All passengers were safely exited via the central platform walkway according to our standard operating procedure," the statement added.
The other aerotrain continued running normally, and passenger transfers between the main and satellite terminals were not interrupted.
KLIA emphasised that services overall were unaffected and operations remained smooth.
The airport operator also assured that measures are in place to manage such incidents promptly in order to minimise disruption.
