I cannot brain people still willing to buy Milo. It does not taste the same and it is almost 50% more expensive compared to when it was sold back in year 2000.

I think really must listen to both sides of the story.

I noticed 99 tends to have ptice variations from time to time. Example, Top detergent sometimes sold at RM19.90, sometimes RM22.90, sometimes higher even. There was once I think it was selling at RM18.90 even.

50% inflation after 25 years not bad la. 10 years ago I eat zap fan around RM7. Now around RM12. Almost 100% inflation in 10 years.

What you eat woh? In year 2000 i eat economy rice at Tmn Segar Cheras (2 consistent locations), Sg Wang roof top, local pasar stall , 2 vege 1 meat cost RM 4-6 only. By 2010 above it costs RM 6-8 (mostly around Puchong). Today it varies from RM7-10. (Around PJ)

Also If they took out what was Milo, it should be same cost for them to make if they sourced lower or cheaper priced ingredients. But they increased the price. So this does not make sense anymore. I just found out last week they want to introduce Milo Intense. I have 2 sachets that came in a square tin that they just launched for RM18. I haven't tasted it yet. But if i find out that this is the exact year 2000 milo, then they will be exposed by me.

Milo inflation more. Because year 2000-2002 i used to buy 2kg Milo from Giant at RM 19.90 - RM 22.90 (PROMO).

Today you can only see 2.0 kg is RM 48.

Ok la, I don't want to argue anymore. Price of everything go up.

Even if it was on promo, the regular price is RM25.90. When that price turned into promo price, i stopped buying and changed to TESCO Choco Malt at RM19.90.
After Tesco changed supplier i switched to First Choice Choco Malt also RM19.90.
Then First Choice increased to RM22. I switched to Giant own brand RM 19.90. Eventually that brand was not available anymore, then i switched to Aeon Choice also RM 19.90. They changed supplier and increased price & taste was not good.
Eventually i changed to Nutrigold. I bought that from before pandemic from RM 21.90 for 2kg to the latest price of 36.20 for 2kg. I could still buy the 2kg packs at RM30.60 2 months ago. But 2kg packs no longer available and now only 1kg packs at RM18.10 each. Price definitely increased kaw kaw.

If you ask me to gauge Milo taste which i bought around 2 months ago, it is really lousy. The good thing about it is it can be made with cold or hot water without clumping up. Thats all. But no way i would recommend it to anyone just for that feature alone. I am sticking to Nutrigold at the moment.

But the bestest best of taste is still Oligo. But it is just as expensive as Milo. So no Oligo.

Story is so many people don’t know what is pricing in retail. There is list price which is the rcp aka the official price and there is promo price which could be HI-LOW or EDLP which we all assume it’s the list price. It’s like we treating subsidized price as god given price.

Most of them r intellectually short and refuse to understand that - no point explaining.

They crave in subsidies and low price forever -

Can’t blame them la - majority r sheep’s afterall.

Kalau mereka faham how economy and pricing in retail works - there wont be many of them confused and angry of how prices and fmcg really operates .
