JOHOR BARU: Just days after reprimanding a mini supermarket in Pekan Nanas for flying the state flag upside down, the Pontian Minicipal Council (MPPn) has come under fire itself for a flag-related mishap.

MPPn has drawn flak for allegedly sharing a photo of a decoration featuring the wrong number of points on the star of the Jalur Gemilang.

In the photo, which was reportedly posted on the MPPn Facebook page, the star on a replica of the national flag had 16 points instead of the correct 14.

The post, which has since been removed, is believed to show the exterior decoration of a building in Pontian in conjunction with National Day.

When contacted, an official from the council said they were in the midst of investigating the allegation.

This came just days after MPPn ordered a mini supermarket in Pekan Nanas, Pontian, to close for 30 days after it was found to be flying the Johor flag upside down.

Prior to that, a dental clinic was also issued a similar order for displaying the Jalur Gemilang upside down.

Not enough stars is just printing and design issue.. lazy

Putting the flag upside down means the country is in distress and disrespecting .. like how Malaysian students in Taiwan done back in 2018

Different meaning

Totally lost bulan sabit.. totally not Malaysian flag

While the Pontian municipality only got less count of stripes and pointers.. you wont see the mistake unless you start counting

Not the same

Laughable attempt by your people to drag others to lessen up your screw up

Yes all the above is disrespecting and say country in distress

But the last one you pretty stupid. That is reverted angle where the flag is facing the inside of the school .. the school clearly want it to be seen from the inside . By law this is not wrong as it all depends on where the wind blow or where the owner of the flag want it to be facing
