I’ve been with my company for almost 14 years and recently, I’ve been hit with a situation that’s left me fuming. I submitted a claim for around RM 54,000 for various expenses related to a China Factory Test I paid for upfront. These expenses included things like hotel, food, and travel for 11 people, plus 3 months of monthly expenses (petrol, tolls, phone bills, and entertainment). The total was about RM 40,000 for the factory test-related expenses and the rest for the other monthlies.

Here’s where it gets weird: the company’s finance team has now withheld RM 54,000 from me, citing things like a RM 900 JPJ fine (reduced to RM 450) and a RM 1900 MPPJ fine (reduced to RM 600) as reasons for the withheld the claims. These are small amounts in the grand scheme of things, especially when you consider the total claim.

To make matters worse, I feel like I’m fighting alone here. My direct boss (Executive Director) is aware of the situation, but he’s acting like it’s no big deal and hasn’t done anything to help me resolve this. The finance team seems to be imposing new requirements out of nowhere. After working with this company for so long, it feels like I’m being treated unfairly.

Has anyone here dealt with a situation like this?

I can move out of this company, but it feels like they win. Should I reach out to a lawyer? I fear, going to a lawyer will only result in them asking me to settle this amicably. The thing is, I usually get away with things by talking to the MD directly.

I dont want this. I want to win, while I can find job outside, I want this to escalate so bad, it results in her getting fired.

I am 100% sure TS been collecting miles point from his credit card. Now he angry because got new bigshot in HR targeting him and started scrutinizing his "claims". I would also bet the new HR is young girl with "less experience" but get hired because on paper she is great. TS maruah tercabar because he is supposed to be higher up in hierarchy due to longer tenure in the company.

TS sounds like a boomer who had his way unchecked for way too long now have personal vendetta because someone is messing with his free reign.

which also make me think TS is working in boomers company that is transitioning to the next generation. So new wave come in the company start doing house cleaning and rectifying a lot of fuckery sop.

I know this because my family business did this many years back. The resistance from boomers old exec damn wtf, a lot of ego and a lot of "last time no problem why now problem?!" . Basically all those old dinosaur try hard to gatekeep to continue the status quo
