Theoretically, if we want to buy a car at a direct dealer like perodua, sometime they do accept trade ins. In your opinion, the offers they give is gooding o not?
Of course selling ownself is better, but
compare with carsome / carro,
is there a case where the dealer take higher coz u want to buy car from them?

.. so far, I have sold 3 of my car to the direct dealer salesman, they
manage to accept my car with reasonable price.
don't find the new salesmen, they will ask you to go sell the car yourself... haha...
those experience salesmen tend to have their own second hard dealer..

sold mine before to Perodua company A. sales person in there is actually a used car buyer under company B (based on the paperwork). u basically sold the car to company B, not A. as for the price, very low. just treat it like a place to quickly dump your old car.

sell to a proper second hand car dealer directly. you get slightly more $ and better handling. that's from my experience.

sell to used car dealer salesman , they will get a quote from carsome .... for example carsome offer 70k , they will lower down the value to 65-68k , extra masuk pocket sendiri not to the company .

If the value of your old car is really low, like below 8k, might be worth skipping the hassle and let the dealer have it. But if it's a "hot" car like old Myvi or Vios, better to go thru 2nd hand dealer or sell yourself as the difference is quite significant.

Sell to 2nd hand dealers better, Perodua showroom trade in very low if your car is dented, cracked, scratches.

depending on your car model and worth. a 10 year old mazda 3 is listed for 15k in market, yet when you trade in it would be 5 to 8 k. Actual successful sale may be 10k. Went to carsome , they offered 6, went through bidding no takers. Sell through work shop agreed 10k, after buyer come gave all kinds of reason and let go at 6k.
In the end, do you need the hassle? If car is of significant value, sell yourself.
Last time carsome offered F30 60K, self sell got 80k.

if different is only 1-3k, just save the hassle let the dealer deal with it... no point to settle this yourself..

Dealer trade ins are almost always lower than the two Cs. If differences can be swallowed, less hassle to go with dealers.

Naturally if you want to save time over trying to squeeze out hundreds or thousands of RM, going to the dealer is a better deal.
At least now's better than COVID time whereby they make you trade in with them if you want to order a new car pronto.
