Today I boot up my 2 weeks old macbook pro suddenly realise that my screen have 2 black spots (2mm) that look like dirt. They are actually in the screen, not on it. Damn...

Anyone else here have similar problem with your Mbp screen?

I called up epic (Pavillion) just now, they said send for RMA. Very disappointed now.
I felt this is really unfair cos I paid for it and it's just 2 weeks old, I need to send it back for 2 weeks. mad.gif

They should but they just ignore my plea. Now, I need to submit a form to S'pore and they'll send the part.
Once its here then Epic with replace it for me. According to Epic, they need another 5 days to replace the part. shakehead.gif

why don't you just send to VR Technology at Jalan Yap Kwan Seng....
I think they can get replacement part for you faster as they are gold service centre for Apple.......

Yup, bought from Epic. Didn't know that it's a S'pore company at first.

@cutekid,
Thanks. But I went to Epic just now. Maybe I'll try VR tomorrow.

I tried that before but the spot still there. Actually, it doesn't look like dead pixels at all. It look like dirt but it's inside the lcd.

Do we need to bring any receipts there to claim warranty?

Sorry to hear that. But dead pixels aren't covered under warranty. Unless there is a unreasonable amount of dead pixels, they can choose not to replace any parts.

If you have 5 or more, you'll be in a better position to negotiate.

The poster said a dust, not a dead pixel. I had this happen to me on my 3 days old MacBook. A dust trap inside the glossy display, right in the middle on the screen. Machine replace the LCD Panel for me in 3 working days.

You are right. Epicentre replaced mine in 2 working days. Thanks to Mr. Rabi and he did a good job here. Even collect my MBP from my office.
2 thumbs up for him. thumbup.gif
