Today I boot up my 2 weeks old macbook pro suddenly realise that my screen have 2 black spots (2mm) that look like dirt. They are actually in the screen, not on it. Damn...
Anyone else here have similar problem with your Mbp screen?

QUOTE(rx330 @ Nov 14 2007, 12:26 PM) dead pixels? can claim for a new unit? I called up epic (Pavillion) just now, they said send for RMA. Very disappointed now. I felt this is really unfair cos I paid for it and it's just 2 weeks old, I need to send it back for 2 weeks.

QUOTE(rx330 @ Nov 14 2007, 01:19 PM) they shud make a one to one exchange They should but they just ignore my plea. Now, I need to submit a form to S'pore and they'll send the part. Once its here then Epic with replace it for me. According to Epic, they need another 5 days to replace the part.

Do we need to bring any receipts there to claim warranty?

Sorry to hear that. But dead pixels aren't covered under warranty. Unless there is a unreasonable amount of dead pixels, they can choose not to replace any parts.
If you have 5 or more, you'll be in a better position to negotiate.

The poster said a dust, not a dead pixel. I had this happen to me on my 3 days old MacBook. A dust trap inside the glossy display, right in the middle on the screen. Machine replace the LCD Panel for me in 3 working days.

Thanks to Mr. Rabi and he did a good job here. Even collect my MBP from my office. 2 thumbs up for him. This post has been edited by Crusader: Nov 29 2007, 09:09 PM
