So far mine was on auto update for Win 11. I heard about possible corruption but I do not bother. For far never had any problem.
Heard MS has removed permanent disable auto-update. Is this include OS too or just apps? |

Got my work laptop ssd fked too, forced to buy new ssd and reinstall windows. Although original ssd data was still mostly intact and functional afterwards
But was actually because want test some laptop components because previous BSOD blue screen became bit more frequently especially overnight or middle of meetings. But went test ssd with write test till fk the ssd, later became unbootable with only BSOD This post has been edited by MyProLife: Aug 25 2025, 05:26 PM |

QUOTE(JohnLai @ Aug 25 2025, 07:02 PM) Huh? How to do that? I noticed Win 11 don't have System Recovery anymore in Settings. Wtf la Microsoft? Should I worry about this issue if so far my SSD hasn't been bricked yet? I'm worried that trying to rollback the update might cause issues instead? Also how to check whether my SSD is affected? Oh wait wait, I found System Restore, but the last restore point was 22 August. Fuck. This post has been edited by JohnL77: Aug 25 2025, 07:10 PM |

Should I worry about this issue if so far my SSD hasn't been bricked yet? I'm worried that trying to rollback the update might cause issues instead? Also how to check whether my SSD is affected? Run command prompt as administrator. Run the command : wusa /uninstall /kb:5063878 Reboot. Then http://download.microsoft.com/download/f/2...howhide.diagcab Run it and hide KB5063878, alternatively delay the windows update by 35 days at update settings? Note: You can just run the Recovery from bootable windows 11 installer via USB drive. |

i might as well teach you about software development.
if a banking website suddenly block you due to outdated browser. it doesnt mean that it have a brand new code that uses only the latest browser. its just the banks changes a few lines inspecting user agent. Banks infamously blame old browsers for all their so called "troubles" banking website dont suddenly uses new codes without testing that takes long time. the banking website still works with old browser that uses user agent. |

this is what will happen if you dont go into "lanun" mode and uses the best OS edition called "IoT Ent LTSC" I personally recommend this, its not bloated, and no automatic updates. Windows 10/11 are very bloated. Its either you unbloat youself which is stupid, or you let Microsoft unbloat for you. buraqdunia liked this post

QUOTE(Ichibanichi @ Aug 25 2025, 04:37 PM) Mine M.2 Sata SSD 256GB gone. Put it at other mainboard/enclosure, run Testdisk to fix the partition, the boot back using windows recovery setup and run BCD repair on it.Purposely bought a enclosure for testing and hope someway to salvage it. PC unable to detect but lappy managed to detect but when initialize result error bootrec /rebuildbcd *Not sure how did I miss your post, but you can try this, assuming if it still appear at BIOS detection stage properly. |

QUOTE(acbc @ Aug 25 2025, 03:53 PM) MSI Spatium SSD died today. Totally undetectable. Wasted 1TB for nothing. Luckily no important data inside. Even resit also cannot read? Saw some post in reddit after they reconnect, can read again for a whileThis post has been edited by Coldf3ar: Aug 26 2025, 10:13 AM |

QUOTE(JohnLai @ Aug 25 2025, 07:13 PM) Better remove the update, you might never know it will accidentally trigger the bug. Aiya I should have clicked Pause Updates before uninstalling KB5063878. I left my computer to restart and when I came back, Windows Update was already reinstalling KB5063878. I hit Pause Updates when it was 93% reinstalling. Now when I try to uninstall KB5063878, I get error 0x800f0825.Run command prompt as administrator. QUOTE(hakimix @ Aug 25 2025, 08:09 PM) Linux user sudah masuk. |
