I think its time to get a new ride. Looking at a car with ADAS that can make my life easier in traffic. Any budget friendly options>?

i was thinking of 100k ish budget...

even if the car has it... is it even any good?

City is the best ADAS equipped car <100k

the ACC on highways are very smooth, and reacts well. Do note that its capped at 30km/h. If you want ICC, (<30km/h) , you need to get the city /city hatchback RS EHEV or the HRV line.

Do note that city doesn't have BSM, a big downside to its rival Vios. But I believe the smoothest ADAS out there is Honda.

Very good in long straight highways .

If you need ICC stop and go for traffic in KV, you need to look for S70 instead , but it comes with every proton quirks .

Ative have traffic jam assist?

No, ativa doesn't have. The ACC will not work at stop and go traffic.

the only cars that can do this is below 100k is S70 and City eHEV

Perhaps it would be a different feeling of driving since its a hybrid .

most adas ive seen only do above 30kmh

I would love those traffic jam assist for after work commute and holidays traffic jams

then too bad since your budget is <100k . There is BYD dolphin that you may snag around that price. Or Unless you're willing to go secondhand, you might find some good deals on used HRV . Even the S line without turbo have the traffic jam assist.

But, living in malaysia, and having ADAS for 2-3 years, I can tell you one thing.

I never used the traffic jam one . Coz the ADAS distance even at 1 bar gap is very conservative. This leaves a slight gap in driving, which our malaysian drivers and motobodo keep cutting and entering making the ADAS brake all of a sudden.

so far ADAS best use is on a highway . Not City / regular roads.

So if you are a regular highway user, I would recommend it . But if you are mostly city driving, I'd say for now, skip ADAS

Even on highway adaptive cruise is useless. Malaysian mindset is it is totally fine to have 1 car distance to cut into your lane, driving at 110 kmph
Your car will keep auto braking causing an anxiety plagued drive experience for everyone in the car

I only use it on left / middle lane only. So far so good.
But my main issue is lanehoggers. Have to keep overtaking even at middle lane. Plus highway is full of them.
