If follow normal maintenance, not much issue and similar with other Toyota 2.0 engine. The expensive part is once you hit major accident or fix as original bodyparts are very rare and need to order from Japan, unless you willing to pay for cheap custom fiber parts from local or Taiwan. One of ugly side of this Toyota.
Others to concern is to get a proper mechanic with knowledge of doing rear engine as especially doing coolant change, need mechanic experience to prevent air trap. Engine wise, nowadays if got issue most upgrade to the Toyota Cardinal 3S-GTE turbo engine which can be source thru half-cut shops.
