Heh I don't think you need 50W just for practising at home
30W is more than enough. |

Headphones enough noneed amp. My theory is, practice sucks. Nobody wants to hear you practice so use headphones

Hahah..I used to do that till I realized that I cant even EQ coz i have always played through a multi.

I bought a Peavey Microbass for my brother after he research thru the internet & audition some brands. The Bass Player Magazine voted Peavey Microbass to be the best. I think so too cause it sounded quite good. It sounded like a big amp...IMHO
By now i dun know who reign the throne. However gettin a second hand is a best bet.... I sometimes repair bass amps and let him have a try. Wow Prefer to have two amps, one for practise and one for gigs. If done with practising you can hold a ceramah session with your peavey microbass. That what i did....
