What is the best way to get to Redang Island from KL? Flights or Bus

I have checked the Fireflyz timing, especially the return from Kuala Terrengganu to Subang one will be around 7PM. Since the ferry from Redang back to mainland would be around 11AM.

So what should i do while waiting for my flight? around 5 hours wait.

Will bus be better? I assume that I have take midnight bus so that I could reach KT early. Also, how do people usually travel from airport or bus station to the jetty? Are Grab services popular there?

if I am driving? How much is it to park in KT, and is it safe or secure?

Maybe you're still not aware that berjaya air no longer offers normal commercial flight SZB <> RDN? Any flight like that would be chartered, and I don't think TS will need that

For malaysian with car just drive. Ironically the 6 hours drive is the only time your family get to spend time uninterrupted.

If scare tired maybe spend a night around the jetty.

I taken flight n drive. IMHO flight really not worth unless u travel alone. The wait time, price and hassle all worse than self drive.

I took firefly last 2 months. U have to choose very early flight from subang to catch the ferry and pray they dont delay the flight. My flight delayed multiple times lol

Return flight was around 2pm i think which is sufficient for us

I’m going alone. So I am thinking if the drive is worth it or not. Good thing is that I have to e freedom to adjust the timing myself. Taking bus would be the most affordable option but… i have to walk to the jetty right if I recall correctly.

If you take flights, how to get to jetty ah if the resort never arranges transport?

Last went there > 10 years ago. Drove to Merang jetty from KV. Started journey at night in order to reach there for the morning boat ride.
If you have more than one driver, it's ok. Else, not recommended.

take midnight bus in and the evening flight back. If take express bus they will usually go to other towns in Terengganu, by the time reach back TBS already 9pm even if you take 12 pm bus.

nearly year end still ok to go?

How u buy ur resort package? I went there twice recently, package bought from travel agency, they can handle everything, resort provide airport-jetty transfer and water transfer (ferry), small amount fee needed
I took flight from SZB to TGG in the morning to catch the 9am ferry, ferry goes in island only once per day, if u missed it u have alternative, which is speed boat but around RM55/pax. Ferry need around 120mins while speed boat need 45mins to reach island.

U need a whole day for return day. Ferry comes out from island around 11am and 1pm++ to arrive jetty. Suitable flights from TGG to KL are after 3pm

In your case, I think driving better..

May-Oct is best time to road cruising along east coast.. Beach along Kuantan - Terangganu is clean and beautiful and there is alot stall / cafe near beach..

Car park by town council is like RM1.20 per hours, and many carpark are free. Can use apps TouchNGo or Boost to pay.. Or just park at your hotel..

If you are going scuba diving, don't take flight.
Else you need to wait hours before going diving.

Drive la..only 4-5 hours from KL. Overnight at cheap hotel and wake up early fresh and have terengganu breakfast. Parking is rm12 per night at jetty. Grab is plenty if you wanna take flight.
