Hello Sifus,

I am having a dilemma on my MacBook internal storage. even with 2tb iCloud, my internal storage is always full.

Is it worth while to get a professional to upgrade the internal storage or should I opt for an external ssd?

If it's an upgrade, any recommendations?

If it's external, which one should I get for optimum speed?

Thanks,
Joel

Mostly used at home. Will bring it to travel once awhile but mainly will use my iPad while travelling instead of my MacBook.

My MacBook Pro is M1 2020

speed 2000MB/s should be sufficient for nowadays devices.

If I get an SSD, can I run apps from the ssd tho? For example installing Final Cut Pro into the ssd?

Upgrade the internal.
I've done both.
Internal SSD is still stable and running at full speed.

External SSD which was a 2TB PNY drive (PNY CS1030 2TB M.2 NVMe PCIe Gen3 x4) in a UGreen enclosure failed after a week.
