Overall, Lexus is known for its luxury-reputable (reliable) brand and will never on par to BBA in terms of prestige and luxury status.

in terms of perceived luxury, people will always consider germans > lexus because at the end of the day, it's an upmarket toyota. and lexus having outdated tech is not helping its case. but i prioritize longevity and simplicity, so i prefer lexus but i know thats not the case for everyone. but then again, toyota quality already going downhill, so they're all going down the shithole anyways. Yes for me. I like its sharp edges and distinctive look between model but not the same. Interior quality is up there with the Germans. BMW design is… defining but not for me. I can’t stand the big grill but it’s unique and mot generic looking Mercedes design is..I can’t tell the C from E from S As for people saying it’s a Toyota playing dress up, fair. Quite a lot of parts are shared. But that’s what makes it great… they invest so much into each part, that in the grand sum the car is reliable and quality. Fk the Germans and their plastics everywhere. The engine and transmission may be bullet proof but the gaskets and plastic hoses fail everywhere else. I don’t want to deal with that poop Jasper__theghost, xavien_1999, and 3 others liked this post

Similar to general public perception towards watches. Despite Grand Seiko made exceptional watches with its mechanical movements equal to or even better than its Swiss counterpart but reality is, people would turn heads to a Rolex FrogBlob liked this post

Lexus is good for quality and comfort. The drawbacks are old school interior and generally lack of power.

Each have their own pros and cons but of course all three can be compared against each other. That said, bmw & merz is only considered "luxury brand" among asean and third world countries. For EU, merz and bmw is just another typical brand out there and being used as taxis. While at jp, lexus is also used as taxis. Therefore all boil down to the buyer's pocket depth and preference.

If you want brand prestige, go for Mercedes or BMW. If you want reliability go for Lexus. Frankly, I don't see the point of paying so much for a Lexus. You're paying a lot of money for the badge without getting the benefit of the badge.

Actually mercedes E class car used as limo taxi at sg airport at least 30 years ago.....Malaysia avis or hertz also provide mercedes as their rental choice |

Lexus is for people which is scare of reliability issues, but driving feel, luxury, premium feel still lack behind the Germans. Malaysia market the Germans got the advantage as some models are CKD here, thus making Lexus not very advantage in term of pricing.
