I use Photoshop CS2. Some people use a software called Photomatix.
Before you use CS2, take 3 identical images with 3 different exposures (-2, 0, +2) or more.

Using photoshop, select File -> Merge to HDR and select those 3 photos.
Once generated, change the color mode from 32bit/channel to 16bit/channel.
Play around with the tone curves, brightness/contrast, shadow/highlights, hue/saturation, etc.

There you go, an HDR photo for you biggrin.gif
