as title. how to.find out the balance ?

mine is PUBLIC bank. how to take it out?
need to go back d original bank or any other branch?

any branch will do

If dormant too long liao like 5years then wait till 7 years and banks will tutup your account. Then sent the money to BNM. You can claim your money from there using internet.

Why I propose so is because PBB is damn annoying to close account.

close account for public bank needs to go back to ori account.

so fed up with PB bank red tapes and SOP I actually close all my PB account even my public mutual..

if any of you PB is hearing this...yeah... you sucks.. so hard I want nothing to do with you and your subsidiaries

i lost my bank book. insist i find d bank book. even though i got IC and i akready personally.come. FEW YEARS back.

I think most banks are like that, some are more flexible. I think Maybank allows you to close at other branch.

you know the funny thing.

I have 2 PB account one at panda jaya another at PJ old town.

when I close my account at Panda jaya, they accidentally gave me extra few hundred. I didn't even check because I just want to get it done.

then I went to PJ old town to close my other account.

the bank called back, and I said I have no time to come back they can collect it back at PJ old town.

best part was when I close the account in PJ old town the bank deducted the amount and NOT give me full and for me to gracefully give them back the money...mayeb I am being petty... but frankly I have a lot of beef with PB bank..

I am glad I have nothing to do with PB from now on..

Have to take leave or something just to go their office haih.

This. A silly move in 2025. I tried closing one but faced the same issue.

I don't think so. I remember I closed one account opened in Selangor at Penang branch.

For PBB, I remember changing my opening account branch to another branch to facilitate transaction without going to the opening branch. I change it through the computer, not the app.

That was few years then. Not sure about now.

HLB is good. For dormant account, you can reactivate via online and need to key in your IC for verification and make a transfer.

No need go branch to do.

Then, good thing they have improved.😊

because if tis incident,I argue wit them. i REMEMBERED forever.

I closed mine a few years ago at different branch. Ori branch still around as well.

They have nothing to lose lah if you closed your account.

That's for sure. I am not doing it to punish them. I am doing it for my own sanity.

iinm it is sop by banks, stand chart and ocbc (so ngam both singkie banks) also charge the dormant fee

what my mum did was to withdraw everything out and leave the account as is and close by itself
