It was in their terms and conditions when you sign up using CC. They made it very clear that it is auto-renewed. And why the hell MS doing this shit anyway? If you didn't read the clause, then its not their fault. The only shitty part is the hassle in cancelling it. I guess its their way of demotivating you when you feel like cancelling.
