is it possible? i am thinking of using J hooks mounted on 2 M5 butterfly anchors. The mini ceiling fan weighs about 2.5kg, weight wise, i think it should be ok. i am more worried about the vibration created by the ceiling fan, will caused the hole on plaster ceiling to become loose overtime due to vibration?
best to mount directly to the cement. long stick down
Yes. I would not try to hang something moving/vibrating and quite heavy.
How far is the actual ceiling behind the plaster ceiling. Can get someone to install bracket there. Most plaster ceiling is very thin type hold by metal frame. I put butterfly hook to the metal frame for my lamp and the LED light is very light.

please advise.
many thanks in advance...
Any size is fine but depends on position of lights. If budget get the semi branded like Alpha or what not. Don't go for those stupid design design shit with light. I mounted my fan direct to ceiling though there is plaster there is support from main ceiling u hook concealed.

2' ++ (almost 3'), too high up. I did the same for LED lights. These LED lights are lightweight and they do not vibrate, till now they stay on the plaster ceiling fine without any issues.
Why not wall mount fan? There are many stylish design wall fans in the market.
its not about style. wall would not be able to delivery the feel of wind like a ceiling fan and the home minister does approved for a wall fan to be mounted in the first place

the gap between plaster ceiling and cement ceiling is around 2' ++ (almost 3'). not the ideal way, out these put these hooks.
its good idea, will take a look on my ceiling later today. see how i can fit a wood block.
thanks again
cos I bought some screwed on downlight for plaster ceiling, the guy go get a wood and put on the plaster ceiling, then screw it on, from there I know how they did :X, if just screw on plaster ceiling, those are gypsum board, once hole is made, you cannot remake the hole at the same place.

Instead of just fan, now you are adding a wood block to put more weight though it may distribute load. However, you also worries about vibration. More likely this will amplify sound from vibrating plaster ceiling
Add a steel U bracket to cement above to equal the surface of the plaster ceiling and hook the fan to it like one other suggest is a better choice. Cutout of plaster ceiling when working on bracket can be easily patch back.

I though you were talking about putting wood block on plaster ceiling frame. This is more like actually use the real ceiling to hold the load. This should be okay then.

usually that's how they did it, direct to plaster ceiling is a big no

This is when you have access from top like from roof above. If you have plaster ceiling under concrete floor like on ground floor, then you have to make a cut to plaster ceiling to install bracket and then patch the ceiling again.
if your ceiling dont have alu frame you cannot install hook. If you have, then no need to add wood like shown above also can, depends what hook you get.
