phone is great on hand, just need to get to use phone when its not in fold position

light and compact (folded) compared to my previous phone

UI is pretty much like IOS but with customization

banking apps working just fine

camera not yet fully tested, but I believe its on par with other flagship phone out there

my only gripe is magic os 9 doesnt provide any equalizer/enhancement on sound except when its paired with headphone/earset

not even a dolby/atmos whatsoever lol, for now i just live with wavelet

Any notable bugs after updating to Magic OS 9?

Portrait shots still have excessive AI processing?
*
this is what i found

1. battery - i have set the limit battery charge up to 80%, but it still went up to 100%. but that is sometimes how phone learn from the charging pattern. im sure next time charging will limit to 80% itself

2. camera - working great, no major bugs. for portrait shots, turn off the AI, beautify mode and stick to film simulation instead. AI enhanced potrait makes those bokeh looks smudged and unnatural.

3. ram - the extra ram is turn on by default, turn it off. you dont need more.

4. keyboard - the pre-installed keyboard (Gboard) feel sluggish a bit, but nothing major. still usable.

Got my phone and speaker yesterday from Maxis, recontracted same 109 plan, phone is 255 x 24mth.

Currently struggling to get used to the UI jumping from Xperia lol.

Want to ask, does the phone have screen protector applied already or I need to get my own SP on top of it?
*
its pretty much same as IOS, all china phone OS like that

display outside already applied sp, i think you can remove those. i saw some of local seller in shopee do sell sp but its hydrogel material.

i personally wont touch those until i found a good sp, i dont like hydrogel.

just dont peel out the sp on the display inside. you peel it out memang GG

I pre-order on 24th, and phone shipped on 25, and received on 26.
but shopee (Urbxx Rexxblic) said Free gift while stock last. (currently their shopee page put sold out).
i was wondering how can I confirm that I'm really the unlucky that "while stock last" or suspect that the speaker did not send to me?.... check with Honor (since I'm sure free gift suppose send together by honor), surely can trace from pre-order list.
*
Fight for the the free gift. Last date for free gift is 24th, and you are eligible for that.

Did u turn on the HD feature on WhatsApp?
*
I did, the quality cant match with iphone and samsung lol. But im aware there's issue with WhatsApp and android, they don't play well together

Teach u a trick , rather than directly click the camera icon , try to click beside the camera icon , after this HOLD the Camera Icon for for about 1sec , then it will pop-out "Take Photo / Reord Video" , this camera will far better , then send it as HD will even better. But stil nothing can beat that taking the shot with your original camera then only send thru whatsapp in HD , but it will request more step.

The whatsapp in-app camera for android is really far behind from apple , because from what i understanding , if u taking picture/video directly just press the icon , it actually taking screenshot/video recording screen and send but not from your original camera , u belum try video lagi , taking video in-app for android is painful , like taking with 20fps  sweat.gif if u slide up to zoom , it jerking  sweat.gif  , taking video and zooming in iOS whatsapp is so smooth  , that the downside of android that people always say not fully optimize.

*
That's some neat tricks! Thanks man!

is that wayyyy better? Because if u directly taken the picture from the camera icon , it just like......using 2mp phone quality  laugh.gif especially u want to send picture with words , almost blur  laugh.gif
*
well actually it does help to sharpen the picture but not near apple or samsung quality la

Dont understand vivo market , why rm6999 8gen3 , i dont think it will sell well in here.
*
Probably they ride the hype of the x200 camera, and slapped the price. Gotta pay for that zeiss license biggrin.gif

But it do come with bigger battery, but in this case when comparing with honor, its not that much.

It will water down to which is better between both on OS optimization.

if you feel your apps display on screen feel a bit off, try to force the app to display to original aspect ratio

settings > foldable phones > force device orientation > pick app > change to force device orientation with original portrait ratio

by the way dont forget to claim your extended warranty in my honor app

WHAT?? lol

im just worried the software update later bro
*
Software wise, its samsung no doubt. But if you looking for bleeding edge hardware (and hopefully software) for foldable, its honor/vivo/oppo

Or get yourself a pixel fold. Guaranteed software update and clean, no bloatware os.

i test both, honestly i like v5 has its own good and fold too

the 1 think i notice the speaker, fold is better, what u guys think?

but i'll overall,  ill pick v5, now im thinking how are they gonna give me the foc...buds or speaker lol
*
speaker on v5 is average. it does not have a built in eq except when you connect your earbuds via bluetooth or wired usb.

you can find bunch of eq in playstore, im using wavelet currently.

about the foc, the speaker u mean harman kardon? that one is only during pre-order period, unless you ask them la

for now the foc is earbuds only and warranty
