This is very likely the main reason to be honest. I do know someone studying medical in UM right now, I shall ask her and see if she wanted to go SG or not laugh.gif

I ask before my study coursemate long time ago. 10 type C fren. 8 wanna go singkie there.

Yep, many wanna go SG. Can't blame them, because the pays are so good and the exposure plus opportunities also plenty. Knew someone went to SG and becomes Specialist earning big bucks in SGD. Funny is she came back to Malaysia and got pick pocketed... lost her purse. I asked how much she lost, she said... just lost my OT money, about 7k-8k MYR. Can earn it back in 1 night.. no biggie. -True story,

The dean already complain in the news every time

Even if they say won't go, the reality is all the non Malay left, according to a teacher I met, her brother left in 2023

If leave 100% will become citizen of Singapore

They want the commitment

It's up to UM working together with Ministry of Health to bond these students. However, from what I am looking at even the housemanship issue can't be resolved, meaning there are too many medic grads.. that's why.

And not necessarily becomes citizen of SG, my friend ended up married a Malaysian...

You have to know, if your salary so damn high, you will not be attracted by BTO scheme from the government. Without BTO, SG actually is nothing. Only those average Malaysian that kena attracted by the BTO and ended up naively given up their citizenship, and I personally think that many of these ex-Malaysian was blinded by the "perfect Singapore image" curated by the SG government and did not thoroughly ponder about it

But it's hard to ignore that scheme, especially when there is some low level of emotional career "blackmail" going on

Plus sorry to say there is a lot of brain washing going on as well

To me, the of the day, how much money one really require?

I've seen money destroy more people than actually resolve the underlying issue.

Then there's also a group of Malaysian always complain, when become Singaporean, also complain about Singapore quietly, then wanna go Australia. Sure or not. Confirm complain about Australia later also.

I would not call it as "blackmail", I will call it "pressure" instead. I agree some of these pressure can very well be categorised as blackmail.

Yea, brain washing is strong there, it's like a "cult" movement if you like hanging up with these Singaporean in SG.

Money is never enough, but people with that kind of money have been snatching assets in Malaysia. The problem with BTO is, there are so many T&C, it is not worth it at all if one can afford to go for private assets in SG.

And the blackmail won't work because the demands for "specialist" there is too damn high, you know very well they can't afford to let go any good and proven "specialist". That's why regardless the T&C from gov or the "pressure", these people shall have the table.

And Type C that are capable of entering to UM to study Med through own merits etc, typically ain't that dumb, I know they will play their games right.

But in the end that's how it is

tbh I think every one is somewhat guilty to how the situation played out

But I think Malaysia really need to up their game instead of losing talent

You asking Malaysia to up their game? It will be a big blessing if we don’t deteriorate. Forget about upping the game.
