Hi all

Any cycling Tour de France enthusiast here? TDF will be starting in July. Who do you guys support? Where do you guys watch it?

Since Asterokkk already discontinued Eurosport channel from their platform. Looked into Sookaaa, also just discontinued from their platform. Any suggestion?

Tadej looking super strong.... and he ride with flair- and enjoying the moment.
Like his style too- even loosing he is happy to congratulate and happy for his opponent.

Jonas.... recall back in 2021/22?- he wasnt the main guy- was supporting. i think his peak is over- may be age, may be after the crash... or may be Tadej just god-like.

anyway- looking foward to this year TDF....

In dauphine, Tadej looks like not even trying, while Jonas already in red zone. Maybe.. due to focus mainly on these 2, others can exploit? Like Simon Yates in Giro..

Btw if got any lobang to watch, please share

Looking at Tadej's form at the Dauphine. I don't think there is anyone who could challenge him this year for yellow.

Hopefully it will not be too one sided & the GC gap not too wide. If not will be bit boring

That is why the first week would the flat stages for the sprinters. It's only the second week when they would hit the mountains. So yeah it will be OK.

Only crash and health issue can stop Pogi.
Jonas the only rival that Pogi have right now. After watching Daphine and saw Pogi drop Jonas on saddle, Jonas looks like no chance already or maybe he sandbag going.

Remco? No chance at all. Even lose to Lipowitz in Daphine.

I think remco will challenge for both TT and few more stages. For GC, best would be 3rd

Yep, its Pogi to lose. But i do think Jonas sandbag a bit in the dauphine, coz his face looks like over struggling to me. Is their level really that different now?

For Remco, will challenge or win the TT, and few stages only. GC best is 3rd

i wanted to get a Canyon lCFR SRAM Red last time- but they always dont have stock.

wait wait- until there are not so much biking fewer liao
so stick to the my old Spez SL6. now hang bike and keep for nostalgi- in case got mood to ride again.

1st mountain stage is at day 10 right?
until then- not much fire works right?

Jasper Philipsen out with a broken collarbone. Bike racing is hard and high risk of injury.

Bad crash, but this is part of the game.
they always get up, heal up, train and race again.

Remco, Vingegard and Pog all have their injury last year right?

Roglic like crashing in most of the grandtour as well.
Froom got it bad - and try to come back too.... not at the level he wanted, but again he is no spring chicken.

anyway- wish him well.....

ouch... for JV fans.... giving a way over a minute.

His race is far from over ... with so many stages to go- i but wont bet money on him
Feels like he stretch max to match Pogi in last 3 stages.... and now they need to plan some offensive while other teams will just hang on at the back and respond.

my best memory in TDF was in 2020- when covid ease and Jumbo team got so many talent, big names.
Roglic, JV, Van aert, Alaphilipe.... they look formitable and fun to watch.

and of course there is Opi-Omi that mess things up.

Remco and his team, would they mount a challenge back? not sure he got good enough domestique to support him

Filipo Ganna is missed this time at TT- he normally is at the hot seat waiting for his time to be smashed.

Yes I do think JV outstretch himself in stage 4. Stage 5 no legs already. I think JV can still outclimbed Remco in the mountain stages, but to overcome 1 min+ deficit to Pogi is just too much. Only chance is if Pogi completely cracked like TDF 2023.

well... someone has to push hard to make Pogi crack,
else he will just chill within the peleton.

Remco vs JV? hmmm... dont underestimate Remco for now. it will be a good fight.

Today is stage 7 of TDF. Again hilly stage with rolling terrain mostly after 120km mark. I think will be won by breakaway again. MVDP already all out on stage 6, so today my bet goes to Wout Van Aert

Today is stage 10 of TDF. The first mountain stages with 8 categorized climbs with many more uncategorized. I think today will be GC stages victory.

Perdiction:
1. JV
2. Pog
3. Remco

yeah- looking forward to the 1st mountain stage today.

Lets see what is in Remco's bag? and how strong is JV and his domestique.

it is time for other contender to show up....
Roglic is more or less done right?

Yeah Roglic sits 3m+ in GC.. I can only see the gap getting bigger after this.. Not aggressive enough.. JV chances increases with J. Almeida withdrawal yesterday..

Yeah Roglic sits 3m+ in GC.. I can only see the gap getting bigger after this.. Not aggressive enough.. JV chances increases with J. Almeida withdrawal yesterday..

Pogacar still got a few strong domestque right?

Adam Yates, Narvaez and Wellens should still be carry the team forward. How is Jonas team? what u think of them?

Adam Yates, Narvaez and Wellens - all are good climber, but J.Almeida is the best among them I think. In the previous stages, its always J.Almeida as the last domestique before Pogi take over.

For Visma, still got Kuss, Benoot, S. Yates & Jorgensen. Even WVA can be used as super domestique, or satellite rider. So Visma can strategize more..
But all depends on Pogi himself, whether he crack or not

Well… Remco was playing football when he was a kid right? Din get selected to go further then switch to cycling.

MVDP is a beast too. Multipurpose wining a few one day race.

Pog… loving him on his attitude of the game.
Winning is not everything. The way he acknowledged opponents when he wiins, and congratulate rival when he lost- making him extra special.

Ben Healy not really a threat- so UAE let him go?
and JV leave it to UAE to respond in defending their yellow- and attack UAE once they are spent?

Highly likely. I think both Pogi & Jonas confident enough to take time in the later mountain stages. I think today Ben Healy will keep yellow, but after tmrw, Pogi will take back.

Also noticed in stage 10, even when Remco attack, UAE did not follow. UAE only follow if Jonas attack.

Today is stage 11 of TDF. Flat stage before another mountain stage tomorrow. My bet is on Bini from Intermarche.. 2024 green jersey winner. For this year tour, still haven't produce anything yet thus far though..

Here comes the Pyrenees! Stage 12 of TDF with mountain top finish, Hautacam. I think massive GC shake up will happen.

I remember in TDF 2022, this is where Jonas & WVA drops Pogi. For today stage, Visma will probably used the same tactics? Placing WVA or Campy into the breakaway.

Hopeful for explosive race today

Now the real race starts.

2022 - as I recall for Pogi push too hard JB first few rides. Young blood wants it all.

This round perhaps he is more composed and patience

Visma try to tire Pogacar from the 1st stage, they ride aggressively on high pace but in the end yesterday stage Visma the exploded. even Jorgenson and Simon Yates also being drop before the start of Hautacam.

Visma can call GG already. Focus for 2nd place.. Jonas already 3m++ on GC.. Pogi can just piggyback until Paris.. Wonder if they will change tactic after this..

Also sad to see yellow jersey dropped so early with 13m++ shipped..

It is most likely over eh. Similar to last year.

UAE been pull hard and fast in the peloton last few days. They suppose to spend more effort while Visma sit back and conserve energy.

Just the fact is Visma guys are spent pre-maturely. No one left to suppose JV- needing him take it up himself.

Pocajar can be seen very relaxed in the bunch- and happy to flex it when attacked- while JV have limited punches left in this hard stage.

Happy to see Ineos win a stage with rookie Arensman. The joy need to be shared.

Will it be the same today?
Or Tadej will try to get another stage win before a rest day and a flat stage.

Its very apparent that Tadej outclasses everyone in the peloton now. He is like a tiger waiting to pounce and there is nothing others can do about that. Barring anything like crashes he would definitely wear yellow to Paris.

Jonas seems worse this year, due to his crash. Nobody can blame him.

Pogacar was blessed with the cycling roulette. 1 in 100000 genetics, no major accidents yet, girlfriend also a cyclist (unlike jonas who had a family compromise everytime he going to camp), and UAE burning money on him.

can he beat cavendish 35 stage wins? Only time will tell. Will he be tested for doping and be positive? Only time will tell.

But this guy is the pinnacle of cycling world now, good for us fans to see.

Pogi's doping accusation always been highlighted when he won. I believe he's naturally talented and free from EPO usage. UCI nowadays has high tech machine to check the doping. what i heard every time stage winner, UCI will take blood sample from them.

Modern era cycling now focus on nutrition, diet, systematic training and cycling equipment. + recovery process to increase performance to their rider.

If no major accident, i believe Pogi can beat Cavendish records. In his current age (26 y/old) he already won 21 TDF stages compare to Eddie Mercx (19) and Cavendish (20). the TDF is not finish yet.

Pogi also already won 3 TDF GC in his 26y/old same with Eddie Mercx. this guy is phenomenal.

my TDF POV in last 5 years between Pogi n Jonas, i think Jonas won on 2021-2023 is partly because Pogacar not fit and his team got health issue.

in 2022, UAE got 4 riders abandon because of Covid. Pogacar kene bullied by Visma rider and always been isolated at every stage. but he still got podium behind Jonas.
in 2023, Pogi left wrist fractured one month before the Tour and he don't have enough mileage and training for the tour. still got podium behind the Jonas.
2024, Jonas got very bad crash (u can read on the net) but he got enough time to training, and his performance last year is better than 2023, u can read his watt/kg comparison X (cyclinggraphs) which shows his performance is at the peak last year but still can't beat Pogacar.

with 103 wins in hand i hope Pogi can beat Eddy records (276) which is quite impossible. different era.

Pogi - the richest cyclist in the world with 8M euro per year. equal with Alex Albon, F1 driver hahaha

TDF Stage 18 Col De La Loze:

Man.. What else can Jonas do more to gain time on Pogi bangwall.gif Even on yesterday queen stage, Col De La Loze, Jonas attacked multiple times but still Pogi glued to to the wheel. I Believe few years back, Jonas is the favorite in the very long mountain stages, but now, seems like Pogi already surpassed Jonas.

I remember few years back, the Pogi "Im gone, Im dead moment''. This year, no chance. Pogi got his revenge. Look composed to the finish. I think he can even catch Ben if he wanted to, but decided to play safe & defend the yellow jersey. BTW, hats off to Ben O Connor. What a stage to win! notworthy.gif

On previous stage 16, Mont Ventoux, also Jonas attacked multiple times but still.. Pogi glued to the wheel. Just waiting for the right moment & boom nuclear attack leaving everyone else in the dust. This kind of attack that Pogi did, no one in the world can respond straight away. Even Jonas have to just let go & pace himself.

Before MVDP abondon, I looked forward to stage 21, where this year final stage will feature a cobble road. But since MVDP no longer in the race, Pogi might even won the final stage & gain more time. Maybe WVA can challenge here?

For today, stage 19. The last mountain stage, La Plagne. I think this is the last stage for GC riders to try something. Make or break stage.
What do you guys think? Same script? Breakaway to win the stage? I go for breakaway since there are still teams yet to win stages, I think they will give it a go.

yeah.... that interview is very touching.
Respect to him pouring all his feeling out.

it should that champions are also human. We keep expect them to be the top, to win, to crush all others.

We tend to forget there could be just one winner.
you already gave 200%, just someone else give 201% then you are a loser, not done enough, etc.

this comment by someone eating potato chips on a couch.

Coming back to TDF
Tadej seems to be one step ahead of JV in each of the battle.
all JV attacks are responded- even when JV has a few support rider and Poggi being isolated.

Can see JV give it all, and Tadej just play safe and reserve power - only to flex a little during the last 200 meter to show who is boss. I bet he could attack earlier and win more time- just not necessary.

Lets see today will Tadej go for stage win. Recall last year there are few 1-v-1 to win the stage. This year they are mostly fighting for 2nd or 3rd spot.

TDF 2025 is completed. as expected Pogi is the winner. He's at another level this year. the best Jonas this year still can't beat him even his team also. Pogi getting mature. Ride defensively and fully attack when he saw others can follow him.

TDF this time from my POV, is the hardest TDF in modern era. Visma team setting the higher pace since the day 1 plus with route stage i can't believe all the ride can follow the pace that has been setup from Visma.

Yes indeed it is tough.... the way i feel is that they put a lot of flat on Wk1.... then compress all the climbs on week 2 and week 3.

Is it as exciting- ii dont feel as such. Yeah there are a few attacks but ended in stalemate. Tadej wont most of them, but it doesnt matter as not for the Stage win. ( compare to last year )

My other takes.....
- no other team/rider beside Visma putting a good challenge. So just 2 teams in the game.
- good sharing of Stage win with other team-so other sponsors and team also get a share of joy.
- Sprint finish not as offensive this year.....
- Wout still a beast during his good day.
- Remco... big let down, is it falling sick, or other reasons?
- MVDP- againt half way good bye....
- Ineos got a 2 stage win this year- i think last year almost wipe out. This doing not good for Pina being the most exclusive bike

so- 4 weeks back then we do La Vuelta.
Jonas says he gonna ride? man.... can he recover in time?

Pogi & Jonas can be considered semi-alien already, while others are just normal human beings. Gap from Jonas to Lipowitz is huge

Milan wins easily. Last year green jersey, Bini not even challenging. Other sprinter as well
- Wout still a beast during his good day.
As predicted, without MVDP, Wout is still the fav for classic type race. BTW what an attack from Wout to distance Tadej. Not many can do that
- Remco... big let down, is it falling sick, or other reasons?
On his last interview, no definitive answer. There has been a few grand tour that he abandon so far. Maybe mind issues rather that physical?
- MVDP- againt half way good bye....
- Ineos got a 2 stage win this year- i think last year almost wipe out. This doing not good for Pina being the most exclusive bike

so- 4 weeks back then we do La Vuelta.
Jonas says he gonna ride? man.... can he recover in time?
I do hope Jonas to ride the Vuelta. He only race participate in a few races this year..
