Hi guys, I randomly did a Speedtest today to configure some devices, and noticed my upload speed is now almost the same as my download speed! 😳

Previously, I always got much lower upload (e.g. 500Mbps download vs 100Mbps upload), but now it’s showing symmetrical speed (Wi-Fi):

Is this new, or can any insider verify? brows.gif brows.gif brows.gif I didn’t receive any official email or announcement. Maybe they’re slowly upping their game? bruce.gif

GPON max is 2.4Gbps download, 1.2Gbps upload. Not possible.

it appears to me that TM is implementing symmetric xgspon at a large scale .need confirmation from the insiders. expect to have new speed upgrades next year.

Restarted my btu and router after 10 mins. No luck, still 500/100. I guess have to wait them to upgrade their infra first.

Hey tng55, see this.

But either 800/800 or 800/200, the HG6145F3 built-in speedtest result always 800/100. When report to CS, always end-up with answer my account config already 800/200 or give guidelines how to use Fiberhome app. The f***ing WEBE habits (not TM) always treat users like monkey*, never conduct internal test about the problem. But want to send FS for what, this problem can solve without any visit.

I like to say it maybe error due to misconfiguration etc for whatever reasons. I bet it'll back to normal soon. That 800/800 was yesterday, i didn't test today.

I mean upload back to normal 200Mbps. About the download, ignore it, just blame my phone wifi max speed even put it on the router but is 800Mbps with my laptop lan/wlan.

XGSPON different wavelength. GPON ONT doesn’t support.

Previously, the upload speed reverted back to 100Mbps on 500M network. However, after the modem/router just now, the upload speed returned to 500Mbps 🤔

Hi, upon checking, it seems the upload speed has reverted to 100 Mbps. My router reboots daily, which might be causing it to randomly assign another set of IP address.

I tried change ME 5 (ANI Cardholder) and ME 6 (ANI Circuit pack) to GPON ANI Type 249 (Symmetrical GPON, 2488Mbps) on D-Link DPN-FX3060V B1,
under ALCL OLT, it appear works, this is best results so far

the OLT can support ANI Type 249, but ONU need a lot of modification which is not worth, better jump to XGSPON or 50G-PON instead

this is confusing . I thought upload speed of GPON is supposed up to 1.25 gbps.

is TM using combo PON technology ?

https://www.fibermall.com/blog/how-combo-po...MoJKZ2wlhshdB5M

How Does Combo PON Integrate GPON and XGSPON?

I think it’s because of “ANI Type 249”
I believe combo PON is just different wavelength down the same fibre. This will probably be the likely case when it’s time for XGSPON etc.
