Iran respond with some meak joke of an attack that is designed to cause minimal damage so the U.S does not have to respond. After what happened Iran quite frankly has to respond or else they look like they just got spanked by the U.S and just took it like little good boys. They respond with a meaningless attack and exaggerate the impacts and how scared the enemy is now and then you quiet down. Iran did this in retaliation for the U.S assassinating the IRGC general. There's already precedent between the two nations for example.
