Student reports economy rice stall for steep prices

A REPORT by a university student in Perak, who was charged RM18 for a plate of economy rice, led to authorities taking action against the stall, Sin Chew Daily reported.

The local student was shocked when he was charged RM18 for a plate of rice with potato, broccoli and some meat at a stall in Tanjong Malim last month.

When asked the reason for the price, the stall owner explained that he had taken a large portion of pork belly, which cost RM10.

The remaining RM8 was made up of RM3 each for potato and broccoli, and RM2 for rice.

The student lodged a report with the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry on May 31 and an investigation was launched on June 3. 

The student told the daily that he received a letter from the ministry on June 17, concluding that the stall had violated provisions in the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011 and was told that action had since been taken against the stall.

although i don't know how high is the living standard in tanjung malim, but will need to see the portion before judge. but potato and brocoli RM3 each seems to be on the high side. 
  last time i ate 1 chap fan stall in serdang industrial area, the pork belly looks very appetizing and i took quite a numbers and 1 veg, kena RM12 but 1 time satisfaction... ok la.

Need to listen to both side of the story. I seriously want to see the portion of the plate first

Whenever eat mixed rice we are at the mercy of their cincai charging method.

Biasala, org gula naik 10Sen, Minuman dia pula naik 10sen. i kira penjual tu letak 1 pack gula utk resipi dia. Tapi resipi dia 2 sudu besar lebih kurang 20g gula. 1kg/ 0.02kg = 50 cawan dia boleh buat. by logic kurang drpd 5sen je kalau betul nak naik.

For what i know, only got 2 kind of people can help you, number 1 is KKM and number 2 is news reporter. What and how u want to trigger with concrete damming evidence is up to you, but most important thing is both of them must so coincidentally show up in the same time. Those old enough got watch chicken and duck talk movie will know what i m talking about

Just look young auto cheaper . I did experiment one time , take same portion ( every day take same portion one )I just change shirt saja office wear Vs very colourful bright t shirt , the price vary 1.5-2rm did this 4-5 time same result .

Mata mata also same they give info to shop tauke once got people report about those pubs, nightclubs, piap piap place, etc places.

What u can do is this :
1) U hire a bunch of people go that shop eat, after eat must take receipt then u ask them go gov clinic pretend food poisoning. After that KKM will send ppl go that shop do spot check, for sure got things will kena one. 

2) U hire a bunch of people go that shop sit whole day occupying all the table and seat but order sut cha only, no business for them for entire day 

in malaysia the scoop is damn dirty, everytime see those ppl with dirty hands baru berak then go scoop food, thenl ater the scoop fall into the kuah and the kuah spreads the bacteria to the whole tray. not to mention people who talk and saliva flying everywhere

in SG, their chap fan stalls got a screen to prevent customer saliva going in. u also arent supposed to cross that screen, like if u use ur hand to go over it to point at the food u want they will ask u to stop doing that.

first one sounds better... always use the law to ur advantage.... actually lots of restaurant ppl just lucky that many ppl dun do this shit, if customers wanna be nasty, no restaurant can survive unless they reli clean clean everyday ...
second one, the taukeh might chase the ppl away or some other customer might tell them woi u just drinking sut cha fk off la

Yes. But u know malaysia have much more variety and can be quite long. Singapore that guy stand still there.

Just wondering, if report, how to solve those loop holes that the seller might use?
- eg, rm18 is for another plate, but buyer sabotage seller by using less vege plate as photo
- or buyer eat some food already before taking photos while leaving the plate looks untouch

That's why seller need to evolve so they also won't get con.

One way is just explain the pricing - one portion = RM6 etc etc. Chap fan now there are no pricing.

Two, explain the pricing as to why the person is being charged RM18.

Another way to do how the China ones does it. Display it by portion, each plate is automatically RMx, macam sushi. So they cant argue on wrong pricing or whatever.

Anyway, chap fan fella is gonna be next, because they just randomly suka hati charge with no pricing display.

where got rm1.5? most stall charge rm2 now
