I'm quite curious with /k's negative reaction, but maybe I'm just out of touch.

Isn't displaying the seller's info better for buyers? Surely you want to know who you're buying from in case the transaction goes wrong?

Item description in BM is mandatory but sellers can also include descriptions in other languages. Isn't having more language choices better than having less?

Isn't having product safety & health certification details (if applicable) also better for consumers?

Sellers info:
Not all online sellers have physical store, some just small seller doing part time, imagine exposing your house address in online platform to thousands of people, and instead of buying online, sure will have some nuts who will directly go to your house, knocking your door 11pm at night because they need to buy something urgent, such people exist.

Nowadays there are more buyer who scam seller, they exploiting the return/refund process to do it, buyer can easily create new buyer account after scamming, some dont even get banned, their name and phone number are censored, seller couldnt see it, hard to identify if its the same person, i got sample how they perform the scam, but i wont expose it here, basically seller couldnt find them. The authorities say dont viral them online as it will worsen the situation with more scammers aware of the scamming method, im like okay

Meanwhile for seller account if banned, they need time to relist all their item, spending thousand on ads to push their sales from zero again, its very hard to restart with zero rating or selling number, potentially losing income for weeks or even months before sales come in again.

Now tell me which party easier to perform the scam?

Seller have no organisation to protect their right (do they even have one?) but buyer have kpndkk, anything happen can just go report while sellers have to suck it up

Unfair for seller to publish their info, while buyer can just hiding in the dark scamming, if really want expose details, both side should do it equally.

BM:
Changing title is disaster, most people set their title base on keyword popularity, countless retest and time needed for those keywords searching, majority wont be touching their title at all if the product having sales, now with these malay wording mixed up, need to restart everything again

I dont want to waste time to edit all of the products.

But the main concern is due to disclosing the shop info publicly especially the phone & address which would lead to further spam issues.

If me I cincai put the original text in Google translate and then just paste the Malay text after the original text.

As the grammar korek or not, shit we care since nobody is going to read the Malay version if the English version is available.

That's what I did but what made me flip the table was when there's a word limit for the description. No choice lo.. Can only put the BM version 🤦🏻‍♀️

How is it safe for seller like that? If I am a pretty girl and sell sexy coli so I have to put my ic number and telephone and address. Mati lar, my house long queue later how? I find Malayaia has 1 problem is that the government just do what they want to do without thinking everything through.

1. Armchair expert in Putrajaya come out with ridiculous policy
2. Announce hastily without giving time for rakyat to adjust
3. Received backlash, u turn and say will review
4. Rinse and repeat

The onus should be on the platform, not the sellers.

The site should automatically translate product listings to whatever language desired.

Not manual google translate copy pasta like barbarians.

I actually wondering, some do mention that eCommerce website also affected?
Like Shopify website, personal WooCommerce website, or even any website at all that list pricing for their services. Even those doesn't have online payment?
