I'm 24 this year. Doing Bachelor in Medical Science next year and will finish at 28. Going in straight to medical school right after.

Will I be too old? Sometimes I felt anxious if I'm going to be left out with no friends.

It's never too late.

It's more tiring because you're slightly older. Trust me, burning the midnight oil at 20 is different compared to doing it at 26.

idk about this. i got tired from working actually, for these past 5 years ive been thinking about studying, and something about studying just makes me feel happy hahahaha. i like the assignments, the projects, the presentations, and learning something i really like – medicine. im starting first degree next year at 25, and finish at 28. then start mbbs at 28 until 33. going to study for the next 8 years ! hahaha

Are you aware that IMU has been offering BSc Medical Science + MBBS combo for a total of 5.5 years?

Included in the programme is option to enrol into its Partner Medical Schools in Aussie, New Zealand or UK?

Why spend 8 years?

where did u find this? i couldn't find anything about this 5.5 years course?

just saw it. i don't plan on doing medicine overseas plus i don't have the financial for it. if i were to do it in imu, i still dont meet the minimum entry requirement for spm. if i did, i could have chosen any other unis with normal mbbs programme.

Just too bad with not meeting minimum entry requirements....

yes. the backstory was so sad anyways. i got D for science during pt3, and teachers wouldn't let me into pure science stream even i fought for it. i took physical science class without biology. but did foundation in science (which includes biology as a subject) and scored 3.6 pointer.

mmc is really strict on entry requirements..
to be honest, what would u recommend? should i register for this upcoming igcse on oct/nov for bio subject? i would have around 4 months to study and cramp up everything to my brain. (i have to force myself to learn about plants and animals which i dont particularly like)

Apology...which specific path to take going forward shall be influenced or determined by your inner 'feelings' or judgements really....

Why not take SPM biology. Take your time to prepare for exam no need to cramp everything in 4 months. It’s quite impossible to memorize everything in 4 months cause biology subjects are quite heavy

for once the spm registration was closed as i was working as a fulltime worker and i didnt even realize. i know that 4 months is so much to cramp, but i asked chatgpt to make a study plan for me until the exams date. i just have to score a B in order to be eligible for mbbs. im doing 2 chapters per 2 weeks and i did lots of questions that is related to the chapter im studying, both mcq and structured.

lets just hope that B grade is achievable.

24 and 18 years old not much difference in looks. I have seen one college student who is only 18 years old but looks like a 40-year old uncle because of his body size.

Anyway you wont feel tired in your 20s and 30s. You will only feel tired in your 40s. So, it's not too late.

I'm middle aged and in the past decade, have been studying part-time for a masters degree and 3 postgraduate diplomas. One was work related, the others for interest. Most of the time, I was the oldest student in class. However, that didn't stop me from studying and the other students, many who were half my age, from interreacting with me regularly. In fact, one student told me that she drew inspiration from me that I was still studying and improving myself at such an old age.

Don't worry about being too old, you are not. As long as you continue to be inspired to read for your course, don't be surprised if younger students than find you as an inspiration to them.
