QUOTE(k8118k @ Apr 14 2008, 01:05 AM) if you go for 4 gb Don't feel like that. Windows XP has discounted its system memory from memory used by the hardware. Some hardware still need system memory to store cache/buffers, interrupts and such. It is a standard x86 memory configuration design since the old PC days (8086 families)windows xp 32bits only show 3.5gb after boot windows left 3gb - 3.2gb if you run alot video rendering and cadcam appz,u can go for it else save ur money for next laptop mine 4gb also feel wasted Vista before SP1 also behaves like Windows XP. After SP1, Vista just forgets about memory discount and reports it system memory as full 4GB so that normal users don't feel cheated after buying 4GB RAM. QUOTE(zHo3 @ Apr 24 2008, 06:55 PM) No, what klifex means that due to a problem (i know the problem mentioned by klifex) with 8600GT installed with DDR2, the laptop manufacturer decided to offer the lower specs 8600GS with DDR2. Of course, 8600GT is better than 8600GS. It just that it solved the problem with that laptop design. |

8600GT model will be the minimum GPU that will be able to play Crysis: Warhead...anyway, Crytek says that it will optimize the CryEngine 2 for Crysis: Warhead so that more current mid-range GPU models can play the game (refer to PC Gamer August 2008 now)
