Unker want to order an audio hardware from Germany store (not a big hardware, the size is like a textbook and it's light). Curious, aside from shipping + the item price, any other charge upon arriving to malaysia? anything unker should be aware in terms of misc cost?

Unker never order anything from germany before.

"Malaysia xda meh?" - there is only one local dealer and they are sold out and unker dont want other alternatives.

If kastam kantoi (which they usually do), they will force you to get SIRIM approval before you can claim your item. Happened to my phone from China before.

It's not really an electronic device. More like a housing case for audio equipment. So should be fine right?

Anything new with box, if kastam opened and check and if under taxation rules, then they will hold the item and the courier will issue you a notice to pickup.

But if sent as a 'gift' (without its ori box) high chance for your item not to be held. Make sure you have tracking service enabled as you will know the status.

If got held, they will want to see your receipt and then tax your accordingly, and you gotta pay before reclaiming your item.

most likely will kena hold up at some where(mine was poslaju office)
then ask you come with the invoices, details of the products.

then will request open infront of you. Once verified item is correct, the staff will go consult their head and see which category it falls into and how much to charge.

years ago, i bought kids bikes from germany, taxed somewhere 10-15% of the product price.

So for ur case, they charged based on the item price instead of item+shipping?

By percentage, I think I paid 10%. Should be around there. End up paid higher than buying local.

Paying more is more common than you think, even if you bought the item physically overseas.

Buy from Amazon.de if the product you wanted is sold there. You pay everything upfront including the tax. So, no surprises.
