Hi sorry if this seems so trivial but I have to ask.
How much in average it cost to upgrade my hard drive to 1tb drive?
I probably will send it to lowyat anyway, i never done this so i may want to know the price to not get scammed.
Thank You in advance guys.

If SSD, about 200-300 bucks for NVME or SATA 2.5 inch. Easy peasy.

Price of new 2.5" 1TB HDD is not worth it. Samsung 870 Evo 1TB SSD can be found around RM375 right now. Significantly faster than HDD.

15 inch laptops usually have space for either M.2 NVME or 2.5 inch SATA drives.

Some like the Latitude 5490 can have 3 storage together. Mine has 256GB M.2 SATA 2242 as the boot drive, 1TB NVME M.2 for data storage and 1TB 2.5 inch SATA SSD (without the casing) for secondary storage (usually full of movies).

If your current usage can still use I dont see why not keep using it. Yours still can support to Win11.

Yours only goes up to PCIE Gen3 so can go with older drives like SX8200pro or P3Plus but do compare price difference with good value Gen4 drives like S70 blade or KC3000, if the pricing arent too much you might wanna consider these instead and they have a longer longevity if port it to a new system later on.

Both equally good. Depends on which reviewer S70 is better and sometimes its slightly worse in others. S70 controller is newer so its a bit more efficient. Just go whichever is cheaper.

I been using S70 so far no issues. And early days Phison E18 also known to have deathblow firmware.

EDIT: Actually E18 still has SSD killing firmware https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comme...rs_update_your/ doh.gif

Stay away from them.
