QUOTE(diffyhelman2 @ Jun 16 2025, 02:42 PM) Guessing you never ride bicycle in a long time on the road edi and don’t realize how hard it is to actually go over 30kph under your own power. Tour de France Top Speed | Riders Hit a Huge 130kph / 81mph on Stage Nine of Le TourBut those blade scooter can easily go 40kph la… crazy riders doing that at night and no helmet and wearing shorts and slippers on public road Wokeh wokeh... electric bicycle/e-scooter woso can overtake this bullshit electric motorcycle. Charging time 8 hours for 110km range. Puuuuuuuuuuuundek la. Am I reading this correctly? The battery can only charge zero to full 500 times? After that need to buy new battery? Puuuuuuuuuundek la. QUOTE(diffyhelman2 @ Jun 16 2025, 02:50 PM) Ah la knew you would post some exaggerated downhill Tdf riders example. Better to post their time trial records. That one mostly going over flat land but still using aero suit and giant amdk bodies generating twice the power of average local beng. Charging time 8 hours for 110km range. Puuuuuuuuuuuundek la.Am I reading this correctly? The battery can only charge zero to full 500 times? After that need to buy new battery? Puuuuuuuuuundek la. |

QUOTE(max_cavalera @ Jun 16 2025, 02:54 PM) Still seems like not many swap stations. ![]() QUOTE(silverhawk @ Jun 16 2025, 03:00 PM) 500 charge cycles is common la for most Li-ion batteries, and it doesn't mean cannot use anymore. Just that the battery would start degrading at that point. Should compare moto with moto.Lets say you change battery after 500 cycles. At 110km @ full charge, that's 55,000 km of distance before you need to change battery. The amount of service you pay for a car moving that much is more expensive than the bike QUOTE(ajaibman @ Jun 16 2025, 02:53 PM) put 10k on the EV scooter. Modify modify later meletup. QUOTE(lurkingaround @ Jun 16 2025, 03:20 PM) . Oh... RM100 not bad la. I thought few thousand ringgit. But that top speed and charging time still bullshit. The Yadea GT20 uses a graphene lead-acid battery (72V 38Ah) that costs only about RM100 to replace-new. 500 charge cycles = will last average 2-3 years = similar to ICE-V car's 12V lead-acid battery. ICE-V kapchai's lead-acid battery will also last average 2-3 years and costs about RM50 to replace-new. . QUOTE(Syok Your Mom @ Jun 16 2025, 03:12 PM) Yi Long Ma dun wan make moto. |

QUOTE(jaycee1 @ Jun 16 2025, 03:44 PM) so dont knock it. hahaha. Obviously, you are not the targeted buyer. For now it seems to fill a small niche. Unlike ICE kapcai, you can ride it in the city, you can ride it long distance. Maybe it makes more sense as rentals in the city center, but it seems that nobody can make the rental model work.I see quite a number of electric scooters/mopeds in my area. This would be no different. There is certainly a market for it. I tested the Blueshark sometime ago. Not for me, but I can see why some of these electric scooters may be appealing to some people. The Blueshark was expensive and battery swap stations are very few and rare. QUOTE(Syok Your Mom @ Jun 16 2025, 03:53 PM) Really got RM2xxx SYM?This post has been edited by JohnL77: Jun 16 2025, 03:55 PM |

QUOTE(jaycee1 @ Jun 17 2025, 05:09 PM) Honestly, i dont think kapchais can do long distance...at least comfortably or safely at higher speeds. But thats just my opinion. Many others will beg to differ...and no doubt take them on higher speed roads. Good points. Same like these urban mobility EV scooters. They are not meant to travel at higher speed roads, relegated to intracity use or small town, taman use. Where your speed limits are usually under 60km/h. They have their uses. Just not big roads. No doubt some might take them where they are not supposed to. These EV scooters are just simple to use. Just twist and go. No gears. No start. Just turn on, twist and go. The Blueshark actually has a reverse "gear". People have accustomed themselves with charging stuff up every night anyway. This would be no different. There are kapchais sold under 3k. The old Aveta Ranger routinely goes for close to 3k. The basic Sym 110 can be had for around 3.2k. If you find those number plate bikes, and you can get them well under 3k easily. Incidentally, I found one WMOTO cub classic, brand new registered (for plate purposes) with 1km on the clock going for 2.5k. My JMB Security has 2 of those cheap china scooters they take on patrol. Curiously, seem to be holding up well after 2 years. I tried riding a scooter once. Didn't like it. Too used to riding a bike with gears and right foot for rear brake. |
