Common Gigabyte Motherboard Beep Codes and Troubleshooting:
One short beep: System is normal, or POST was successful. Two short beeps: CMOS error. This could be due to a faulty CMOS battery or issues with the BIOS settings. One long beep and two short beeps: Video card error. This could indicate a problem with the graphics card or its connection to the motherboard. One long beep and three short beeps: AGP (Accelerated Graphics Port) error. This is less common now as AGP slots are outdated, but could indicate a problem with the GPU or its connection. Continuous long beeps: Memory not correctly installed or there is a memory error. Continuous short beeps: Power supply unit failed. Five short beeps: CPU error |

QUOTE(CrimsOn ChAos @ Jun 16 2025, 11:25 AM) But there are still lights on the RAMs And the PC can still boot...occasionally. I had to unplug the power cable etc. Or maybe it's the power supply? This post has been edited by yusri1426: Jun 16 2025, 11:53 AM |

I would suggest the following steps for troubleshooting :- 1. Unplug & remove everything from the casing. 2. Only connect the essentials to the mainboard (eg. CPU, RAM). Ensure this components are properly installed / seated by removing & installing back. Power-on & take note of the spark persist or not. 3. If no, then slowly connect each individual device (eg. VGA, SSD etc.) & power-on. Repeat the same for each components/devices installed. 4. If all OK, then only proceed to install back into casing. If by any chance, the sparks appear on step #1, replace the PSU. If problems persist, then high chances its the mainboard. Slowly identify which components are giving you the sparks. Hope this helps... yusri1426 liked this post

My advice is, try change PSU first. Also don't use cheap PSU. Many case always PSU kabut, cause motherboard kabut.
Then after change PSU, make sure your motherboard have buzzer connected. Boot motherboard only, if have beep sound. Should be okay. Only then insert your other hardware 1 by 1 to diagonstic. You may refer dcheah steps |
