Closure of Jetstar Asia

Jetstar Asia, the Group’s Singapore-based low-cost subsidiary, has faced growing challenges in recent years and the decision has been made, together with majority shareholder Westbrook Investments, to close the airline.

Despite delivering exceptional customer service and operational reliability; Jetstar Asia has been impacted by rising supplier costs, high airport fees, and intensified competition in the region. This has fundamentally challenged the low-cost airline’s ability to deliver returns comparable to the stronger performing core markets in the Group.

The airline is expected to post a $35 million underlying EBIT loss this financial year, prior to the closure decision.

Jetstar Asia will continue to operate flights for the next seven weeks on a progressively reduced schedule, before its final day of operation on 31 July 2025.

jetstar really cannot...i saw a lot of people complain after batik air
lots of delays and cancellation

don't think it's ATC if it's happening everywhere
even in their home country of AUS

u can go google search "jetstar delay tiktok"...plenty of video

so far scoot and airasia still reliable because they have enough plane...so when they say delay, it really means slight delay

Qantas/Jetstar used to have an associate airline in Vietnam too - Jetstar Pacific. But it was hammered by the Bikini Airlines, and has been sold to Vietnam Airlines.

I guess Qantas really sucks when it comes to overseas venture.

if got massive delay, i also angry

u want massive delay, try jetstar and batik air...minimum delay is 8-12 hours, basically no difference than cancellation
but they call it delay

why?
1. they don't have enough planes to compensate
2. their frequency is really really bad...literally 1-2 flights per day only

Most people will always call AirAsia trash until they tried other low cost airline

I give u another example
AirAsia check your luggage size and weight but outside at the departure zone
Batik air does too but they do it inside the boarding zone in front of your boarding gate which basically is a trap
